  1. Post update

Right, I'm going. I've missed the last train.

I'll be back tomorrow with Katie Whyatt, when two of our three remaining Division One matches at Essex and Worcestershire are likely to finish.

    Until then, goodbye!

  2. Close of play at New Road

    Worcs 120-8 (target 248)

It was bright sunshine 10 minutes ago, but with it being September the sun has gone down and the light faded quickly.

The umpires have a quick look at their light meters and call things off.

That's stumps. Worcestershire will resume on day three needing another 128 to win. Hampshire are strong favourites.

  3. Post update

    Worcs 118-8 (target 248)

Four more! Straight down the ground from Ross Whiteley off Dale Steyn.

    Worcestershire still believe.

  4. Post update

    Worcs 114-8 (target 248)

    Bosh. Four.

Dale Steyn drops one short and Ross Whiteley absolutely creams him through point for four.

Worcestershire need 130 to win. Surely not?

  5. Post update

    Worcs 109-8 (target 248)

    Wayne Parnell

Wayne Parnell is a more than useful man to have coming in at 10.

He's scored two first-class centuries and averages 27 with the bat.

Ross Whiteley has just demonstrated his talent with a booming drive for four off Fidel Edwards.

Considering what's gone on today, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Worcestershire won this now!

  6. Post update

    Worcs 98-8 (target 248)

Wayne Parnell smashes Kyle Abbott through the covers for four.

If Worcestershire are nine down at 19:15, they can take an extra 15 minutes.

If you spot a withered journalist hunched over his keyboard in the morning - please send help.

  7. Close of play at Derby

    Derbyshire 251 & 171 v Glamorgan 121 & 16-1

Glamorgan opener Stephen Cook falls to the final ball of the day, bowled by Tony Palladino.

Their pursuit of 302 hasn't started well.

  8. Post update

    Worcs 87-8 (target 248)

Wayne Parnell smacks Dale Steyn for back-to-back boundaries but runs are of little consequence any more.

Hampshire have indeed taken the extra half hour. There have already been 100 overs at New Road today.

    I need new fingers.

Francis Edwards: Anderson may have more wickets because he has simply played more tests but Dale is the best bowler of the modern era and one for all conditions. Look at that average, that’s truly immense.

Hard to argue with those numbers Francis...

    Dale Steyn
  10. Post update

    Worcs 79-8 (target 248)

There have been 24 wickets at Worcestershire today. What's happened to the batsmen in this round?!

One over is scheduled to remain, but I'd expect Hampshire to take another half hour to try and wrap it up tonight.

  11. Close of play at Edgbaston

    Warwickshire 310 v Durham 224-7

It's stumps at Edgbaston after a fine last hour or so for Durham. Paul Collingwood and Barry McCarthy have put on 59 so far for the eighth wicket.

  12. Post update

    Worcs 77-8 (target 248)

Dale Steyn is back on for Hampshire. Just what Worcestershire would have wanted.

  13. Post update

    Worcs 72-8 (target 248)

So far today I've covered a tied game, a zillion wickets and now a hat-trick.

Where can I get gin? And lots of it.

    Barnard lbw b Abbott 0 (Worcs 72-8, target 248)

    Kyle Abbott

    He's done it!

Kyle Abbott removes Ed Barnard lbw first ball for his hat-trick. And five wickets.

What a day this has been.

  15. WICKET

    Tongue b Abbott 0 (Worcs 72-7, target 248)

Kyle Abbott is on a hat-trick...

The Hampshire seamer bowls Josh Tongue first ball.

Ed Barnard will face the hat-trick delivery.

  16. WICKET

    Clarke c Alsop b Abbott 33 (Worcs 72-6, target 248)

That could well be it for Worcestershire...

Joe Clarke wafts outside off stump and edges Kyle Abbott to the keeper.

Josh Tongue enters the fray for the final three and a bit overs.

Jamie Pettigrew: Just seen Keaton Jennings on the tube. Hopefully the lad is on his way to Oxford Street to buy some runs

There are a few batsmen who need to do a bit of run shopping Jamie.

  18. Collingwood digs in for Durham

    Warwickshire 310 v Durham 220-7

Durham skipper Paul Collingwood is showing all his experience in the Edgbaston evening sunshine.

The 42-year-old has battled for more than an hour to move to 30, with Barry McCarthy providing fine support at the other end in a stand of 55.

Warwickshire's lead is now less than 100.

  19. Glamorgan need 302 for victory

    Derbyshire 251 & 171 v Glamorgan 121

Derbyshire are all out for 171 - a lead of 301.

Glamorgan require 302 for just their second win of the season. The way the Welsh county batted in the first innings - I wouldn't put your mortgage on it.

  20. Post update

    Worcs 65-5 (target 248)

These are some handy runs late in the day for Worcestershire.

Ross Whiteley biffs Fidel Edwards to the rope - his stand with Joe Clarke is up to 24.

If these two can stay in until stumps the hosts will still feel they have a slight chance of victory.
