  1. Post update

    Lancashire lightning

Right folks, we've overstayed our welcome!

It's been a night of huge scores, thrilling finishes and rain. Yes, rain.

There's just the one T20 Blast game tomorrow - Essex against Hampshire at 17:00 BST.

    Until then, sleep well.

    Birmingham Bears 231-5 v Northants Steelbacks 231-5

It had to be a tie, didn't it!

An extraordinary evening of T20 Blast cricket finishes with Aaron Thomason taking a single off Nathan Buck's final delivery and the scores are level.

    231-5 apiece.

    Phew, I'm done.

    De Grandhomme c Crook b Buck 14 (Bears 230-5)

This ridiculous night of T20 cricket continues.

Colin de Grandhomme is caught by Steven Crook running in at long on.

Bears need two off the final delivery.

  4. Maximum for Colin

    Birmingham Bears 230-4 (19.4 overs) v Northants 231-5

    Out of here!

Colin de Grandhomme smashes Nathan Buck for another maximum and the Bears need two off two.

    Bell c Procter b Buck 131 (Bears 222-4)

Ian Bell is caught on the extra cover boundary for a brilliant 131.

    10 needed off five balls.

  6. Lancs 'had just enough'

Lancashire beat Yorkshire by 1 run

Quote Message: Jos and I took it to them early on and after he got run out I had to take some responsibility. We knew it was a good wicket and our score was just above par. It wasn't un-chaseable and luckily we had just enough to play with. Toby is playing his fifth game and defended 5 off 2 so it is good he can perform under pressure. We don't feel like we have played a bad game of white-ball cricket yet. We are playing aggressive cricket which is great to be a part of. from Liam Livingstone Lancashire captain

  7. Bears need 10 off final over

    Birmingham Bears 222-3 (19 overs) v Northants 231-5

Colin de Grandhomme smashes a six off the final ball of Rory Kleinveldt's over and Birmingham Bears need 10 off the last six deliveries.

  8. Lancs allowed '20 or 30' too many

Lancashire beat Yorkshire by 1 run

Quote Message: It was interesting wasn't it. We knew with the likes of Kane and Rooty we had a chance but it just wasn't to be for us. We knew it would be a big ask and we got close. We knew at half-time that it was a good pitch and we could chase anything, but we probably let them get 20 or 30 too many. When they get momentum it is hard to claw it back. If we keep playing like that and keep it tighter in the field we will win more games. from Steven Patterson Yorkshire captain on Sky Sports

  9. Bears need 21 off two overs

    Birmingham Bears 211-3 (18 overs) v Northants 231-5

Amazing! 17 come off Seekkuge Prasanna's over - Ian Bell is up to 127.

The Bears could just do this you know.

  10. Post update

A couple of other results to tell you about in the south group...

Somerset have beaten Glamorgan by 30 runs and Hampshire have won by 21 runs against Middlesex.

  11. Lancs remain top of North Group

Lancashire 176-2, Yorkshire 175-4; Lancs win by 1 run

Yorkshire gave that run chase a real go, with Adam Lyth hitting 60 and Joe Root adding an unbeaten 51 as they fell just short.

Matt Parkinson was the pick of the Lancs bowlers with 2-38, but Liam Livingstone did the damage with the bat in the Lightning innings, with 79 runs off 37 balls.

Lancashire remain top of the North Group, with Yorkshire slipping to sixth after suffering their second defeat.

  12. Birmingham Bears in incredible chase

    Birmingham Bears 194-3 (17 overs) v Northants 231-5

What a night of T20 Blast cricket.

Kane Williamson turns the final ball to deep square leg, but the fielder is on it quckly.

The batsmen run two but can't come back for a third.

Lancashire beat their rivals by the narrowest of margins after 15 runs came from the final over.

    Great entertainment at Old Trafford.
