  2. Close of play scores

Here's how it all stands then with one day to go in this round of games....

    Division One:

    Yorkshire (273 & 61-0) beat Lancashire (123 & 209) by 10 wickets

    Hampshire (515) lead Warwickshire (254 & 75-2 f/o) by 186 runs

Middlesex (311-7) trail Somerset (443-9 dec) by 132 runs

    Division Two:

    Northamptonshire (338 & 44-1) need 161 more runs to beat Durham (166 & 376)

    Nottinghamshire (229 & 313-6) lead Derbyshire (363) by 179 runs

    Sussex (579-8 dec) lead Worcestershire (312 & 124-4-0 f/o) by 143 runs

  3. How it ended at Lord's

    Middlesex 311-7 v Somerset 443-9 dec

So after more rain and bad light delays than I can even remember, Middlesex end the day on 311-7.

It's hard to see anything but a draw tomorrow after the champions avoided the follow-on and with an uncertain weather forecast around.

Middlesex have three batting points and trail by 132 runs. Somerset have two more overs to get two more wickets to get a third bowling point.

  4. Post update

And they've also drawn stumps at Lord's after a day of coming off and on.

News of how that finished up shortly....

  5. Close of play at Chester-le-Street

    Durham 166 & 376 v Northants 338 & 44-1

Rob Newton (25 not out) and Alex Wakely (18 not out) see Northants through to the end of day without any further damage.

Despite the early breakthrough for Durham, the visitors look in total control of the match at Chester-le-Street.

Wakely's side require a further 161 runs for victory on the final day, and as long as the rain stays away you'd presume it will be quite a simple chase.

  6. India win big against Pakistan

    India 319-3 (48 overs) v Pakistan 164 (33.4 overs)

    India celebrate

It's all over at Edgbaston and rather quickly too as India record a big win over Pakistan by 124 runs on the Duckworth Lewis Stern method.

Pakistan's run-chase collapsed rather meakly towards the end, but I doubt few of an Indian persuasion will care.

You can pick up reaction to that on our live text commentary page and also watch a selection of video highlights.

Also, you can watch a full highlights programme on BBC Two this evening from 23:30 BST.

  7. Play resumes at Lord's

    Middlesex 298-7 v Somerset 443-9 dec

7.4 overs remain for the day. Let's hope they aren't taken off yet again for bad light!

  8. Newton goes after Coughlin

    Durham 166 & 376 v Northants 338 & 24-1

Rob Newton isn't looking to hang around. He launches Paul Coughlin for a boundary before following it up with a huge six.

Northants need another 181 runs to win the game with six overs left today.

The weather forecast is not looking favourable for the visitors at Chester-le-Street tomorrow though.

  9. Post update

So, still not back on at Lord's after the latest interruption and there's still six overs to bowl at Chester-le-Street...

  10. Close of play at Hove

    Sussex 579-8 dec v Worcestershire 312 & 124-4 (f/o)

    Daryl Mitchell

All over for the day at Hove and Worcestershire are almost floored in this one.

Daryl Mitchell was the last man to fall for them shortly before the close after his earlier first-innings century and 54 in the second dig.

His side lost 14 wickets today after looking seemingly unflustered at 215-0 earlier.

The visitors still trail by 143 runs with six second-innings wickets in hand as they head for the final day tomorrow.

  11. Champions Trophy Update

    India 319-3 v Pakistan 135-6 (27.4 overs - revised target 289 in 41 overs)

India are closing in on a big win against Pakistan at Edgbaston.

Captain Sarfraz Ahmed is running out of partners as a series of loose shots see wickets tumble.

You can follow all the action in our live text commentary, with in-play highlight clips available for UK website users.

You can also follow every delivery via Test Match Special's ball-by-ball commentary on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra.

Or if you prefer, you can watch television highlights of the game on BBC Two tonight.

  12. Close of play at Ageas Bowl

    Hampshire 515 v Warwickshire 254 & 75-2 f/o

End of day three between Hampshire and Warwickshire.

The hosts well and truly in command of this one but Jonathan Trott (17 not out) and Ian Bell (47 not out) are still there for Warwickshire.

The Bears are still 186 runs behind making Hampshire bat again, but they'll know they need to bat three sessions most of all to save this one.

  13. WICKET Holden (c Jennings b Coughlin) 0

    Durham 166 & 376 v Northants 338 & 0-1

Perfect start for Durham at Chester-le-Street as Northamptonshire's first-innings centurion Max Holden edges Paul Coughlin to Keaton Jennings in the slips.

The visitors' batsmen have another 11.4 overs to negotiate this evening as Alex Wakely comes to the crease.

  14. Trott takes a hit on hand

    Hampshire 515 v Warwickshire 254 & 67-2 f/o

Bit of a delay towards the end of the day's play at the Ageas Bowl.

Jonathan Trott receives a bit of treatment after a ball from Ian Holland strikes him on the hand.

All seems OK though as after a short stoppage, he's back at his old business of occupying the crease.

Couple of overs left in the day.

  15. Bad light stops play

    Middlesex 298-7 v Somerset 443-9 dec

Light meter is out and umpires have signaled it's too dark at Lord's.

Here we go again with still just under 17 overs to be bowled in the day.

  16. WICKET Mitchell (lbw van Zyl) 54

    Sussex 579-8 dec v Worcestershire 312 & 116-4 (f/o)

Just after reaching his half-century, Daryl Mitchell is trapped plumb in front by Stiaan van Zyl as Worcestershire lose their 14th wicket of the day.

The visitors are still 151 runs behind Sussex's first innings score of 579-8 declared.

  17. Close of play

    Nottinghamshire 229 & 313-6 v Derbyshire 363

And just as I predicted, that is that for the day at Trent Bridge....

  18. Umpires inspecting at Trent Bridge

    Nottinghamshire 229 & 313-6 v Derbyshire 363

Covers are well and truly on in Nottingham and the umpires have come out with their umbrellas up to take a look.

Have to say, it's not looking too promising for a resumption there as it's also pretty gloomy.

  19. WICKET Poynter (c Wakely b Azharullah) 5

    Durham 166 & 376 v Northants 338

Another wicket for Azharullah as Stuart Poynter edges the ball to Alex Wakely at second slip.

The Pakistani bowler then traps Gavin Main lbw for a duck to pick up a five-wicket haul and wrap up Durham's innings for 376.

Northants will require 205 runs to win at Chester-le-Street. They'll face 12 overs this evening.

  20. WICKET Rayner (b Overton) 29

    Middlesex 290-7 v Somerset 443-9 dec

Jamie Overton yorks Ollie Rayner on the second ball after the resumption.

Rayner clocked up 29 runs in 36 balls in 45 minutes.

Somerset's 443 is looking increasingly harder to get level for Middlesex.
