  1. See ya!

You're in for an early wake-up call tomorrow - play will start at 04:33 BST as England try to get themselves a first innings lead. We'll be on the go from 04:15 BST.

We'll be back tomorrow, with caffeine a plenty. Until tomorrow...

  2. Post update

Well. That was an interesting first day...

Bangladesh, led by 104 from Tamim, were dominant at 171-1. Then Stokes dragged England back into the game before Moeen, with a bit of help from Woakes, finished off the tail. England never make it easy on themselves though, losing three wickets to spin before the rain came to make it a nervy overnight wait.

  3. The Duckett Debate

Firas: The fact of the matter is Duckett outperformed Hameed in the pre-games so has every right to be given an opportunity before him.

  4. 'Ansari didn't have the best of days'

    Ebony Rainford-Brent

Ex-England batter on Test Match Special

England are a team on paper that are much more capable, but Bangladesh have come out and really pushed them. Ansari didn't have the best of days. He maybe bowled better than his figures suggest but he was too full. Moeen, once he broke that partnership, started to really fire and Stokes at the other end did that consistently. Rashid has some work to do.

  6. 'This is what we love about Test cricket'

    Ebony Rainford-Brent

Ex-England batter on Test Match Special

Unbelievable stuff. This is what we love about Test cricket, the ups and downs. Bangladesh had decided to be aggressive, they maybe don't have that much test cricket under their belt and when they look their most dangerous when they come out and play with freedom. It wasn't easy with the new ball but the way Tamim and Mominul played those shots and played with freedom was glorious.

  7. The Ballance Debate

  8. Close of play

That's play over for the day, as the rain continues to pour in Dhaka. We'll bring you news of what time you should be setting your alarms for very shortly...

JonesyJones: Just seen the score. Are they batting on a volcano?

Luke Adams: Good delivery, difficult pitch and conditions aside, I strongly believe that Ballance isn't justifying his spot in the team.

    Jonathan Agnew

    BBC Test Match Special

I feel sorry for the spectators who were moved to the top level of the terracing for some reason, and have now got very wet. It's been a funny old day, and we might have 11 and a half overs unbowled if they don't return. It's absolutely hammering down now, Tim Abraham and Mike Atherton of Sky are running for cover.

  11. Rain stops play

It is absolutely hosing it down in Dhaka. Pity the poor ground staff and a very unhappy looking fourth umpire, who are having to wade through the water.

Oliver Lewis: MISSING - England's top order, last seen more than 12 months ago! Can't remember when last time England had a score like 171-1.

Darren Cook: We shouldn't fret. This is the Stokes and Moeen series.100 each for sure.

England have some work to do. Duckett likes to play his shots, for me he's the sort of batsman who should be coming in at number four. There are going to have to be some changes, and that makes it even harder to find some momentum.

  16. Post update

I might be wrong, but that could be it for the day. It looks gloomy out in Dhaka, and with those deliveries that Shakib has got to spin, England wouldn't fancy popping back out for another tense half hour.

  17. The Ballance Debate

    Gary Ballance

Oli Fearne: Ballance should be nowhere near this squad. What did he do all summer to get on this tour? No consistency from selectors.

Callum Michael: Can we just leave Ballance in Dhaka and pick him up after the India Tests?

  18. Rain stops play

    Eng 50-3

It's been getting darker and darker, and the umpires have decided enough is enough. The rain starts to fall as Moeen and Root take a leisurely stroll off the pitch.

  19. England's team selection

Owen Farr: All the Duckett doomsayers would be saying exactly the same about Hameed if same run of scores.. Give the lad a chance!

Dan Pritchett: Gary Ballance being a Test match cricketer gives me hope that my dream will one day be realised. #average

Sue: Maybe England's next round of player rotations should feature Cook, Duckett and Ballance.
