  1. Goodbye

That's it from me for day one of the County Championship action. You can read all reports on how your side got on on this very website shortly.

    Until tomorrow, goodbye.

  2. Glamorgan 118-5 v Worcestershire 163

And as I say that, it is now over at Worcester. Where, as I said earlier, it's been a day for lots and lots of wickets.

    More tomorrow? We shall see.

  3. Surrey 252 all out v Warwickshire

The light isn't good enough for Warwickshire to get out and start their innings, so they've called it a day at Edgbaston.

Only Worcestershire v Glamorgan still going.

  4. Middlesex 100-1 v Durham 204

It's over at Lord's as Middlesex are clearly in control against Durham. But they had to survive a late lbw appeal against Nick Compton, who not for the first time in this innings was living dangerously.

  5. Gloucestershire 332-7 v Sussex

Stumps at Hove and Michael Klinger's unbeaten century is the highlight of the day. But Steve Magoffin has done his best to steal the limelight, taking four wickets for Sussex.

  6. Surrey 252 all out v Warwickshire

  7. WICKET Meschede 0 (c Shantry b Barnard)

    Glamorgan 105-5 v Worcestershire 163

It looks like a very bowler friendly wicket at Worcester, as we have the 15th dismissal of the day. Craig Meschede is the man to go for a 13-ball duck.

Glamorgan still trail by 58 runs, but Will Bragg is currently out there on 72.

  8. WICKET Peterson 32 (b Brooks)

    Lancashire 299-7 v Yorkshire

We've got a wicket to close the day at Old Trafford, as Alviro Peterson is bowled by Jack Brooks. Brooks has certainly done some damage in the closing stages of day one with three wickets.

The game had looked to be getting away from the Tykes after Haseeb Hameed's century, but they have pulled it back now.

  9. Leicestershire 330-5 v Northants

It's over too at Wantage Road where Leicestershire are looking fairly well placed going into day two against Northants. Centuries from Mark Cosgrove and Mark Pettini have given them the edge.

  10. Nottinghamshire 39-1 v Hampshire

It's over at Trent Bridge too, with Nottinghamshire very happy with their afternoon and evening's work. At 280-5, Hampshire looked like they could crank up the runs, but now the game is looking much more balanced.

  11. WICKET Batty 27 (lbw Barker)

Surrey 252 all out v Warwickshire

Surrey can't see out those final overs of the day as Gareth Batty is the last man out, trapped leg before by Keith Barker. Barker's first wicket of the day as well as all Bears' bowlers today now have at least one dismissal, although the greedy Jeetan Patel has four of them.

  12. Essex 291-4 v Derbyshire

It's all over for day one between Essex and Derbyshire, and it is a day that will be remembered for a fine batting display by Essex opener Nick Browne.

He is currently unbeaten on 116, his second Championship century of the season. The Division Two leaders are looking in fine knick at the moment.

  13. WICKET Meaker 7 (c Chopra b Wright)

    Surrey 249-9 v Warwickshire

Six overs left in the day. Six overs to see out with one wicket left if you're of a Surrey persuasion. Stuart Meaker is the latest tail-ender to fall as Chris Wright gets his first wicket of the day.

  14. WICKET Kerrigan 2 (c Hodd b Brooks)

    Lancashire 286-6 v Yorkshire

The nightwatchman Simon Kerrigan is dismissed and this game is right in the balance once more. He edges behind to Andrew Hodd off the bowling of Jack Brooks and in the process becomes Hodd's third catch of the day.

The hosts did not want that to happen.

  15. Surrey 232-8 v Warwickshire

After a morning session where they were rarely troubled, as the day has progressed, the more uncomfortable life has been for Surrey. Tom Curran shortly followed his brother Sam off the pitch, also being dismissed by Rikki Clarke.

They have another eight overs to see out today.

  16. WICKET Libby 11 (lbw McLaren)

    Nottinghamshire 20-1 v Hampshire 319

He may have been out for a disappointing 16 runs, but Ryan McLaren has the first breakthrough for Hampshire as he traps Nottinghamshire's Jake Libby for 11 in the fifth over.

  17. Essex 273-4 v Derbyshire

Essex opener Nick Browne may be losing partners, but he's holding the visitors' innings together.

  18. WICKET Livingstone 0 (c Hodd b Sidebottom)

    Lancashire 279-5 v Yorkshire

Lancashire's innings is just becoming a little unstuck at the moment. Liam Livingstone is the next man to go for a 10-ball duck, getting himself out in a bid to get on the scoreboard. No real need to play at that one from Ryan Sidebottom but he edges it behind.

    Nightwatchman Simon Kerrigan comes in.

  19. Leicestershire 309-5 v Northants

Mark Pettini becomes the second Mark to reach a century for Leicestershire today, after Mark Cosgrove's earlier ton. Mark my words.

I can't say anything positive about Pettini, or else he'll be out any second. But maybe Northants fans want me to say he's playing phenomenally...

  20. WICKET Eskinazi 42 (b Onions)

    Middlesex 77-1 v Durham

I should never praise anyone again. The moment I do, something bad happens to them.

Middlesex opener Stevie Eskinazi is trapped lbw by Graham Onions.
