Tyson Fury's hopes of fighting Deontay Wilder in the early part of next year stay on course, after he had to battle hard, and despite suffering two bad cuts, to beat Otto Wallin on points.

Thanks for joining us and goodbye for now.

  2. Post update

We are hearing that Tyson Fury has been taken to hospital, presumably for immediate work on those bad cuts he suffered.

Tyson Fury battled to a rugged points win over Otto Wallin as he fought for over nine rounds with heavy cuts to maintain his unbeaten record in a dramatic bout in Las Vegas.

The 31-year-old Briton, a 1-25 favourite with bookmakers, was expected to walk through Sweden's Wallin but found his cut at the mercy of repeated checks from the ringside doctor, prompting moments of stunned silence at the T-Mobile Arena.

A punch in the third round drew blood above Fury's right eye and when officials began to show concern, he visibly showed urgency, switching from patient boxing to planting his feet in a bid to land heavy, destructive shots.

He did, with a barrage in the ninth forcing Wallin to sway before a hard right hand piled him into the ropes in the 11th as Fury came through the type of examination few expected with a unanimous 116-112 117-111 118-110 points win.

  4. 'No way he beats me with a hand tied behind his back'

Before the fight, Tyson Fury, while interviewed by Mike Tyson for a podcast, said he would beat Andy Ruiz 'with one hand tied behind his back'.

Ruiz, who beat Anthony Joshua earlier this year, has just tweeted..

  5. 'An untidy effort'

Some more from John Fury, Tyson's father, speaking on BT Sport Box Office, who says: "For Tyson to box like that from the off, I knew there was a problem. There was no snap to the punches, he lost his shape, the power was not there, his feet were coming together, it was an untidy effort.

"His will to win is unprecedented but he made hard work of it from the off. How does a man like Otto Wallin, with limited ability, get that close with a piercing jab.

"Tyson got cut, he thought he was on borrowed time and against anyone else he probably would've got knocked out - there was nothing right about it."

On the two cuts around the right eye, John Fury adds: "An injury like that could finish a career, he might need surgery on that."

  6. 'As weak as a kitten'

Some incredible quotes from Tyson's father, John Fury, speaking on BT Sport Box Office.

"It's the worst I've seen from Tyson," said John Fury. "I'm proud of how he has mauled his way through but he has to be honest and say things are not right. For a man to be in that condition after eight weeks camp it looked like he had nothing after round two.

"His strength and power went tonight, he was as weak as a kitten from the first round. At 18 stone 1, I've warned him and warned him. He is a 19-stone fighter.

"If I had my way, the lot [Tyson's team] would be gone. If they keep that team that will be his career [gone]."

  7. Post update

Tyson Fury, who remains unbeaten, says: "I know Otto's father [who died earlier this year] would be very proud of his son.

"It was a great fight, I got caught on the eye and that changed the fight. For the majority I could not see out of the eye. Then there was a clash of heads and I got cut again.

"A good 12 rounds, he was tough. Deontay Wilder, I want you next, bum. That's my fourth fight, it has put me in good stead for the big dosser, February 22nd. Let the cut heal, have some time to relax with the family.

"It's all heart and determination if I can keep going I will do. He was 20-0 didn't know how to lose but I was the better man."

  8. Post update

Seeing Tyson Fury's bloodied face, he has a deep cut over the right eye and also on the eyelid. Two cuts, they're going to take a long time to heal. But, despite those issues, he still wins.

  9. Post update

Otto Wallin, who loses on points, says: "I did everything I could, I tried my best and Tyson is a great champion. I tried to hit it [the cut] even more, I was happy he was cut, I wish I could've hit it even more.

"Nobody can question my heart or question that I'm a good fighter."

  10. BreakingFury wins

As expected, Tyson Fury gets the verdict. The margins are 116-112, 117-111 and 118-110.

  11. Post update

    Here we go... Unanimous decision...

  12. Post update

    Andy Lee

Former middleweight world champion on BBC Radio 5 live

A really good heavyweight fight, made all the better because we didn't expect. The cut made it dramatic.

A really entertaining fight, taxing for both men. We'll see how the cut cleans up, but it's hard to see him fighting in February. That's one that will take six to eight months to heal.

  13. Post update

    Mike Costello

BBC Sport boxing correspondent on Radio 5 Live

Wallin raises both arms, punches the air. His victory is reaching the final bell.

  14. Post update

Great bravery from both men. Tyson Fury, badly cut in the third, dug deep and surely, after winning every round from seven to 11 to pull clear, has done enough.

Otto Wallin proves the doubters wrong by going the distance, and probably taking the 12th.

    What will the judges say?

  15. All over, to the judges

  16. Post update

Fury holds on to his man. Both fighters are covered in blood, from that cut to the Fury eye.

  17. Post update

Wallin has to keep swinging and keep hoping. Now or never.

  18. Post update

A couple of lefts from Wallin to the blooded area around the eye.
