Well then, what to make of that?
Kell Brook dazzled, not least with the gold trim on his shorts, sizing up his opponent early in round one and then quickly exploding to deliver the goods.
Two knockdowns in round two, another two in round four and that was that. Jo Jo Dan found sanctuary in his corner and his entourage decided he would not come out to take any more punishment.
Brook's right hand looked superb. Accurate, powerful, damaging. To think there were concerns over his balance when he was stabbed in the leg back in September. The only one with balance problems tonight was Jo Jo Dan. It looked like he had silk socks on while dancing on a polished floor.

Pacquiao issues, Mayweather floored?
Elsewhere in the world of boxing this week it has emerged tax authorities are chasing Manny Pacquiao for £33m, hardly ideal when he is about to glove up for arguably the biggest fight in boxing history.
His opponent on 2 May, Floyd Mayweather, was knocked down in training by sparring partner Zab Judah if Twitter gossip is to be believed but Judah denies it happened.
Warrington, who contests for the WBC International featherweight title at Leeds Arena, is a huge Leeds United fan.
Jones is not the first sportsman to accompany him to the ring as former footballer Dominic Matteo and Super League star Jamie Peacock had the honour when the 24-year-old last fought at home in October.

"I've come a long way, fighting on undercards and in leisure centres to packing out this arena as a world champion," said Kell Brook on Friday.
The champion is not wrong and a look back at his first fight throws up a story that even stone-hearted individuals will love.
Peter 'The Professor' Buckley continued and eventually retired on 300 fights - 256 were losses. Why is this heartwarming? Because the pro went out with a win in 2008, his first in five years.

Thanks in no small part to the training of Brendan Ingle, fight fans in the city have been able to welcome a string of world champions home.
They include WBO, IBF and WBC featherweight champion Prince Naseem Hamed (right), ex-WBO cruiserweight champion Johnny Nelson (centre), WBO light middleweight champion Paul 'Silky' Jones and IBF light heavyweight champion Clinton Woods.
Herol 'Bomber' Graham (left) - acknowledged as one of the best British boxers of the post-war era never to have won a world title - is also from the northern city.
Ingle's fighters are known for relying on footwork and speed for defence rather than a rigid guard, freeing their hands to launch attacks.
The latest champion from their stable - Kell Brook - exuding such qualities tonight. He floated and smashed wonderfully.

Kell Brook wins
Kell Brook v Jo Jo Dan
It was as if Jo Jo Dan's corner were watching replays on the big screen of the destruction coming their man's way. A left-hook right on the bell in the fourth round delivered some serious pain.
It's a left hand to the side of the head as Dan held a low position. It came down on his temple like a missile dropping from on high. Throw in the fact the travelling fighter was off balance and there was only one way he was going. Down.
Brook is ecstatic, on the ropes, slapping his chest with a grin.

Round Four
Kell Brook v Jo Jo Dan

Right, left, right from Brook after 60 seconds of reprieve. It gets him in close, another three-shot combo. Short, sharp shots.
Dan started this fight with a confident bounce but my word he has had it drained away from him and he is down again.
It's a standing eight count for the IBF's number-one rank. Here comes the bell... no... a fourth knockdown.
Earlier tonight, it was complete domination for Frankie Gavin in his welterweight bout against durable but limited opponent Bogdan Mitic from Serbia.
Gavin, a Commonwealth Games gold medallist in 2006, won all 10 rounds to seal a 100-90 points win and will fight again in May against South African Chris van Heerden for the IBF international welterweight title.

Mitic only landed 12 punches but Gavin, with 22 wins in 23 professional fights, admitted he needed to raise his game.
He said: "I didn't get out of my comfort zone. I won every round easy enough, but I really should have taken him out of there. I will have to be better than that and I will be. I was trying too hard."

Round Three
Kell Brook v Jo Jo Dan
Kell Brook has his trigonometry down to a tee. His angles and distance are on point. He bounces into range and throws a left upper-cut which misses but comes back, left jab lands, Dan takes it.
Where is the Brook right hand? It must be itching to let fly? One, two, three - he leaves it until last but narrowly misses with a cross-shot.
Dan engages in a grapple but gets pushed about. There is nothing down for him here. Bell. The challenger looks demoralised to say the least. What answers have you got Jo Jo?

Round Two
Kell Brook v Jo Jo Dan
The only option Jo Jo Dan has is to grapple. Tie up the champion. He looks like a rugby player at one point, almost hugging Brook around the waist.
The right hand is the money maker for Brook. It's causing damage like a wrecking ball. Even as the bell goes Dan does not want to let go.
At one point Dan looked like a giraffe on ice. His legs were gone. He needs the stool and may well need it again soon.
Round Two
Kell Brook v Jo Jo Dan
No doubt Brook bettered those early exchanges. He was selective with his punches just like when he claimed Shawn Porter for the IBF title. Punch when it's worth it.

Why is it tricky? As Brook leads with his left hand, Dan will lead with his right, their feet will be closer together as a result and the angles from which attacks can arrive are changed up.

Let us be honest, Kell Brook will not be on the minds of either Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao as the pair prepare for boxing's showdown of a generation on 2 May.
But the pair (and specifically the man he tips for the big fight) are rolling through the mind of 'Special K'.

"I see Mayweather winning the fight," Brook told BBC Radio 5 live. "He believes he will win with a passion. Pacquiao has lost before and can lose again.
"Mayweather can control the pace and is a brilliant defensive sharpshooter. For me he takes over the fight halfway through and wins convincingly.
"On 3 May there will only be two men in the division with world title belts. I would love to do a unification with the winner."

He is number one in the IBF's welterweight rankings behind champion Brook and has only lost twice in 34 fights, both times to Turkey's Selcuk Aydin.
It is five wins in a row now for Dan, who has not fought in his home country since 2010 and so a boisterous crowd shouting for the champ will probably hold little fear.

Adam Etches beaten
The new IBF International Middleweight champion is Sergey Khomitsky and boy has he subdued this arena with that smash.
Adam Etches is back up again, he needed a stool briefly in the middle of the ring. Boxing is so punishing, the young fighter was talked up, given all the praise he could handle but this is a humbling and now it's time for a brief re-build.
Round four - Khomitsky wins by Knockout
Adam Etches v Sergey Khomitsky
Adam Etches is out. Centre of the ring, the medics rush in creating a worrying scene. What a shot by Khomitsky. No one, Adam Etches particularly, saw that one coming.
It stems from the home fighter leaning forward to land a left jab, Khomitsky takes a step back to get out of range and springs forward with the right to catch the 24-year-old flush in the face. An absolute hammer. A hammer soaked in cement and covered in nails.
Round four - Knockout

Round three
Adam Etches v Sergey Khomitsky
Look at the names on the last entry that Khomitsky has danced with. Far from the bar room brawler young talents often face to build their career.
Left, right, left from the Belarus man but Etches ducks and weaves to land. Back comes Khomitsky, this pair are trading nicely, it's a see-saw round but who gets the better?
Jab, jab, left handed Etches, his defence gets punctured on times but nothing painful. Now he backs his opponent up, right-upper cut, whack. That one hurt. The Sheffield man takes the round impressively.

Etches is being foolish...
Adam Etches v Sergey Khomitsky
How can I put this nicely? Sergey Khomitsky looks hard. He looks like the kind of villain you see in a Jason Bourne film.

And the 40-year-old Belarus national has proven his durability in recent years, taking Britain's Martin Murray (who fought Gennady Golovkin last time out) to points twice, most recently in December 2013.
"It's very easy to dream about knocking me out, but very difficult to do," said Khomitsky. "As soon as the bell rings, Etches will realise he's let his imagination get the better of him."
Khomitsky's career record is 29 wins, 11 losses, three draws.
Round Two
Adam Etches v Sergey Khomitsky
Adam Etches sold around 1,200 tickets off his own back tonight, not bad for a young fighter on the undercard by any means. He is fancied to go a long way but make no mistake this is a test.
Khomitsky is a wise owl and he comes game. His variation is impressive so far as he looks to shock his younger opponent. The pair get close in the second round, fighting on the inside and Etches gets the better of the exchange, backs the travelling fighter up well onto the ropes. A confidence boost in round two for the Brit. I make that one apiece.

Round One
Adam Etches v Sergey Khomitsky
Etches , with 'ETCH' across his white trunks, leads with the left early on, no use of the right hand at all as he feels his way in. His opponent is more varied, loosening up with a few rights, none landing.
Both are orthodox fighters, looking to power up that right hand and Khomitsky does first, stinging the home favourite.
Etches has a huge tattoo on his back. He looks for openings but with 40 years behind him, the man stood opposite him is not going to give much away at this stage. Closed shop son, try harder.

"This has been five years in the making," said Gavin. "My brother has inspired me, I saw him do it and it has taken me five years, a lot of hard work and I've finally got there.
"I'm 100% convinced I can go on to win a world title. I'm not going to retire until I've got as many titles as Jamie. I'm not retiring as the second-best in my family."
Jamie added: "I'm absolutely proud of Gavin. He is going to go all the way."

Up next we will see undefeated British middleweight Adam Etches take on a very tough and durable fighter from Belarus, Sergey Khomitsky. The visitor has been in the ring with some top names.
First though, let's hear from the new European super-bantamweight champ...
There have been some great nights in boxing for the McDonnell family - and tonight is another one.

Gavin McDonnell, whose twin brother Jamie is the WBA world bantamweight champion, is the new European super-bantamweight title holder after beating talented Ukrainian Oleksander Yegorov on points.
McDonnell, 28, won many of the early rounds but had to survive late pressure from his opponent, who suffered the first loss of his career.
Nevertheless, the English fighter got the verdict by 117-11, 118-110 and 118-109 margins.

Hatton predicts Brook win
Kell Brook v Jo Jo Dan
Former world champion Ricky Hatton on Kell Brook's contest: "A lot of people might not know much about his opponent, but you don't get to be a mandatory challenger without being a world class fighter and he'll give his all. That said, I think Kell will shine and then move on to those big fights he's chasing for later in the year."
Anticipation aplenty in Sheffield...
Kell Brook v Jo Jo Dan
The atmosphere is building nicely in Sheffield. A relatively meek start to the undercard made the arena feel cave-like but it is warming up nicely now as Jamie McDonnell and Oleksander Yegorov go at it.
You get the feeling it will be pumped by Brook time. Recognisable faces puncture the mass of heads ringside. Father & son Barry and Eddie Hearn - the Godfathers of boxing - Scott Quigg, Ricky Burns and Tony Bellew, who will be doing some punditry with BBC Radio 5 live shortly. Coverage on the station will roll from 22:00 GMT.

Boxing rarely goes to plan but if it does tonight then expect Kell Brook to walk to the ring at 22:15 GMT. There have been rumours he has a big entrance planned.
Brook normally enters to the Kanye West hit 'All of the lights'. Will this change? You've got to love those moments where boxing goes a bit WWE.
Before Brook comes Adam Etches v Sergey Khomitsky. There could be hope on offer of us running to time as unbeaten Etches does not normally hang around and has 15 KOs in 18 fights.

Kell Brook experienced more than the highs and lows of sport in 2014, tasting the highs and lows of life in a broader context generally.
Just over two weeks after being crowned champion of the world for the first time in California, Brook was stabbed in an "unprovoked attack" in Tenerife.
"My mind was going overtime," Brook told BBC Radio 5 live. "I wasn't sleeping. I was thinking I'd put myself through it in the gym , put myself through it in my life, I win the world title and I'm laid here thinking am I going to walk again, let alone box.
"I was feeling sorry for myself. I can't describe in this interview how good a feeling it was in California, looking at my family, them looking at me, to being laid in a hospital bed, strapped up."

Rocky could have doubled as a life coach when he was out of the ring.
"Life ain't about how hard you hit, it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, that's how winning is done," he once said.
Kell Brook headlines a show named 'Unbreakable' a shade over six months after he was stabbed on holiday. He is moving forward, world title in tow, taking and dealing out the hits.
Does he have the eye of the tiger? Or will this Hollywood-like fairytale offer a dose of reality?

Kell's 'Professor' punches
Kell Brook beats Jo Jo Dan
"I've come a long way, fighting on undercards and in leisure centres to packing out this arena as a world champion," said Kell Brook on Friday.
The champion is not wrong and a look back at his first fight throws up a story that even stone-hearted individuals will love.
On that September night in 2004, Brook went toe-to-toe with Peter Buckley - a man with 189 losses in 220 fights at the time. Buckley was consistently brilliant at losing and recently told BBC Sport that getting beaten is an art which pays the bills.
Peter 'The Professor' Buckley continued and eventually retired on 300 fights - 256 were losses. Why is this heartwarming? Because the pro went out with a win in 2008, his first in five years.

Sheffield - 'the steel city' - makes men of steel.

Boxing loves a legend. Boxers seek a legacy. Few manage it.
"I want to be remembered like a Tyson, a Sugar Ray Leonard, a Sugar Ray Robinson," Brook told BBC radio 5 live ahead of this fight. "When you talk about boxing you talk about them. When you talk British fighters, Benn, Eubank, Bruno, I want to leave this sport an old man and still have people mention the fights I've been involved with. So when you speak about boxing,. you speak about Kell Brook."

Kell Brook has 34 wins from 34 fights and his latest is impressive to say the least.
Just the four knockdowns in 12 minutes. He was controlled, thoughtful, artistic.

Four bodies crowd around Jo Jo Dan in his corner. What are they supposed to say?
A right upper cut did for him first and hang on a minute... FIGHT OVER. He will not come back for a fifth round.
Undercard action
Frankie Gavin beat Bogdan Mitic (welterweight, points)

'Kell is better than Dan has ever seen'
Tony Bellew
Former light heavyweight world title challenger on Radio 5 live
"Jo Jo Dan took everything in that round. Kell has the measure of him. Jo Jo Dan is known for being tough and having a great chin, but when you become a world champion you find a new level. And Kell is proving that. He is better than Dan has ever seen before."
Round Two
Kell Brook v Jo Jo Dan
Right hand upper-cut and BANG... Jo Jo Dan is down.
Dan is floored again. He is all over the place here. Another right hand put him on the deck for a second time in a matter of seconds.

Round One
Kell Brook v Jo Jo Dan
Brook lands a right to the face and draws a welcome roar from the crowd. Some naughty stuff from Dan as he wants to put the digs in when the pair grapple. He has a few slappy punches when they lock together and looks to graze his head across the champion's.
Round One
Kell Brook v Jo Jo Dan
Jo Jo Dan is all in blue, Brook in red.
The Romanian is bouncing, energetic, he looks game and comes forward but Brook catches him nicely with the left hand, a counter punch. No sign of anything new from Brook after his leg injury and rehabilitation. He looks poised. Tight hands close to his chest.

Boxing's stepping-stones have conspired to create a path from Amir Khan to Kell Brook but the pair will not meet in the middle to get it on, according to Brook's promoter Eddie Hearn.
"Amir Khan has said 'go and fight someone good, go and win a world title'," Hearn told BBC Radio 5 live. "Well do you know what, we went and fought someone good and went and won a world title and now we sit with Amir Khan this summer with no opponent.
"We sit there with a date at Wembley of June 13th where Amir Khan could fight Kell Brook in another 80,000 blockbuster and Amir Khan doesn't want to know.

Kell Brook is in the ring. He skips as he enters. Surely he will leave the ring with the belt again.

Go on, say it. I know you want to. It is Saturday night, there is boxing on. All together... one... two... three
"LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE".
If ever there was a sign Kell Brook has made it in the sport, the fact legendary announcer Michael Buffer is on duty tonight is pretty definitive.

Beware the southpaw
Kell Brook v Jo Jo Dan
Kell Brook fans, I don't want to worry you but it has been several years since your man fought a southpaw.
Our visitor for the night - Jo Jo - is one of those awkward customers.
Why is it tricky? As Brook leads with his left hand, Dan will lead with his right, their feet will be closer together as a result and the angles from which attacks can arrive are changed up.
Show me the money...
Kell Brook v Jo Jo Dan
Jo Jo Dan was wonderfully honest when asked about Kell Brook's hopes of fighting Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao in the welterweight division.
"Who doesn't want to fight for a million dollars," Dan told IFL TV. "It doesn't matter, you go there, fight one round and get the money. I want to fight them too, but I'm not thinking about that fight, I want to focus on Kell Brook.
"I feel great, in the best shape of my life and confident. I know what he does, what he's good at and not, we will see that in the ring. I'm ready to adjust whatever he is going to bring."

"It is testament to Kell's character that he is back here tonight. It was a very tough time for him after the stabbing incident.
"I have been in touch with him since it happened and it has been a long process of five and six months where he had to build up the strength in his leg.
"But the carrot is being dangled in front of him of what fights he may have in the future. I saw him backstage and I'm not going to lie, he said he is nervous. I said he had to go out there and show what he could do and show all the hard work that he has put in."
All aboard the 'Money' train...
Kell Brook v Jo Jo Dan
Brook is talking the talk but must hold on to his IBF title to have any hope of a big payday against the winner of Mayweather-Pacquiao, who will hold WBA, WBC and WBO crowns.

Jo Jo who?
Kell Brook v Jo Jo Dan
He may have a name like a character from a London musical, but Jo Jo Dan is no fluffy character.
Whatever happens tonight, the name 'Jo Jo Dan' is about as boxing as boxing can get. It's perfect for those fight posters promoters love to push.

Kell Brook's world title success against undefeated Shawn Porter in August via majority decision was his toughest outing in a while.
Before meeting the American, Brook put away four straight opponents inside the distance, so his last full 12 rounder prior to Porter was in July of 2012.
Porter was the only undefeated fighter he has faced in his career.

Brook was efficient and tactically superb in seeing off Shawn Porter to claim the IBF title. He threw nearly 200 fewer punches than the deposed champion, landing 158 from 441 thrown, a 36% connect rate.

And so...
It's time for Kell.
Who can Etches dream of?
Sergey Khomitsky beats Adam Etches by KO
These men now seem a long way away for Adam Etches.
Andy Lee (left), middleweight king Gennady Golovkin (centre) and Martin Murray (right) are now only dream fights for some time.
He wanted these fights in the coming years. Patience will be key now.
Adam Etches v Sergey Khomitsky
Etches paws his opponent onto the ropes, then he gets the measuring tape out, takes a glance, thinks and bang, a chopping right hand early in the round.
Really good stuff, experience beyond his years and WOW... counter punch, Etches is down...
Undercard action
Stephen Smith beat Jacek Wylezol (super-featherweight, points)
It was a good night's work for Liverpool-based super-featherweight Stephen Smith as he recorded a comfortable points win against Poland's Jacek Wylezol.
Smith, 29, who has held British belts at featherweight and super-featherweight, won every round and floored his opponent with a left hook to the body in the third on his way to a 60-53 victory in their six-round contest.
This was Smith's first fight in eight months and the victory means he has now won 21 of his 22 bouts.
"Good six rounds under my belt, good to be back in there after so long out," tweeted Smith.
Round three
Adam Etches v Sergey Khomitsky

Odds-on Kell
Kell Brook v Jo Jo Dan
Kell Brook looked the picture of everything that is an athlete when he weighed in on Friday. Lean, defined, his stature was far more impressive than Jo Jo Dan's.
Dan may be the IBF's number one rank behind title-holder Brook but he is far from fancied tonight. You have to place £14 on Brook to win £1.

With Kell Brook fighting later on after being stabbed last year, we're asking for the most remarkable sporting comebacks.
Nathan: The greatest comeback has to be Monica Seles.
Seles won the Australian Open in 1996, she was stabbed in 1993 and returned to the Tour in 1995.
Andrew Priestley: Bernard Hopkins. 50-years-old and he keeps on coming back for more. The man is incredible.
Post update
Adam Etches v Sergey Khomitsky
Sergey Khomitsky stands, clapping his black gloves together. He has an artery visible on his hairless head. He looks angry. Just the 16 years older than his opponent.
The Sheffield crowd are up and cheering for Etches, one of their own after all. He strips down, tattoos aplenty. White gloves, a youthful looking face but make no mistake, the man is a weapon.
Who is Adam Etches?
Adam Etches v Sergey Khomitsky
This could be the platform Adam Etches needs to take his name to the masses.
The 24-year-old middleweight has torn up opponents in his career so far, knocking out 15 of the 18 men he has faced, beating every one of them.
He is another Sheffield lad, hated school, spent two years working as a doorman in the city and started boxing in his teens after excelling in martial arts.
"My weight class is booming," he told The Telegraph. "There are plenty of top class kids out there -good boxers who can fight. There is a brilliant mix. Young and old, ones on their way up, ones on their way down. For me, it's nice to be slap bang in the middle of it. It's nice to be mentioned among the others."
Am I the only one thinking he does not look old enough to have been a doorman?
Jump Around...
Adam Etches v Sergey Khomitsky
It's ring walk time. What does Adam 'The Bomber' Etches roll into the arena too?
Pack it up, pack it in
Let me begin
I came to win
Battle me that's a sin
It's 'Jump Around' by House of Pain. Apt. He dishes it out.
'I'm not retiring as the second-best in my family'
There's nothing like family rivalry to motivate you. And new European super-bantamweight champion Gavin McDonnell says he is desperate to follow in the footsteps of his brother Jamie, the WBA world bantamweight title holder.
The starter before Brook's main
Adam Etches v Sergey Khomitsky
Up next we will see undefeated British middleweight Adam Etches take on a very tough and durable fighter from Belarus, Sergey Khomitsky. The visitor has been in the ring with some top names.
First though, let's hear from the new European super-bantamweight champ...
Undercard action
Gavin McDonnell beat Oleksander Yegorov (super-bantamweight, points)
There have been some great nights in boxing for the McDonnell family - and tonight is another one.
Gavin McDonnell, whose twin brother Jamie is the WBA world bantamweight champion, is the new European super-bantamweight title holder after beating talented Ukrainian Oleksander Yegorov on points.
McDonnell, 28, won many of the early rounds but had to survive late pressure from his opponent, who suffered the first loss of his career.
Nevertheless, the English fighter got the verdict by 117-11, 118-110 and 118-109 margins.
Jo Jo the big surprise
Kell Brook v Jo Jo Dan
"If they overlook us they will be surprised, if they don't they will be surprised anyway." Those were the words of Jo Jo Dan's trainer at the pre-fight news conference.
Born in Giurgiu, Romania, Dan's full name is Ionut Dan Ion and he is based in Canada, where 23 of his 34 fights have taken place.
Dan has only fought outside of Canada and Romania five times.
"Yorkshire, Yorkshire, Yorkshire," sings a pocket of the crowd.
The all important timings
Kell Brook v Jo Jo Dan
Boxing rarely goes to plan but if it does tonight then expect Kell Brook to walk to the ring at 22:15 GMT. There have been rumours he has a big entrance planned.
Brook normally enters to the Kanye West hit 'All of the lights'. Will this change? You've got to love those moments where boxing goes a bit WWE.
Before Brook comes Adam Etches v Sergey Khomitsky. There could be hope on offer of us running to time as unbeaten Etches does not normally hang around and has 15 KOs in 18 fights.
A round-up of the fights we have seen so far coming up shortly...

From ecstasy to confusion...
Kell Brook v Jo Jo Dan
'Eye of the Tiger'
Kell Brook v Jo Jo Dan
Rocky could have doubled as a life coach when he was out of the ring.
"Life ain't about how hard you hit, it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, that's how winning is done," he once said.
Kell Brook headlines a show named 'Unbreakable' a shade over six months after he was stabbed on holiday. He is moving forward, world title in tow, taking and dealing out the hits.
Does he have the eye of the tiger? Or will this Hollywood-like fairytale offer a dose of reality?

No one quite came back from adversity like Rocky. Can Kell Brook summon his inner Balboa tonight?
