  1. Seahawks down Patriots in thriller

New England Patriots 30 - 35 Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks' resolute defence at the end of a thrilling game was the difference as they went 2-0 for the season.

They prevented the Pats from turning around a 12-point three-quarter-time deficit, including stopping quarterback Cam Newton on the goaline to deny him a rushing touchdown with less than three minutes left to play.

Meanwhile, Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson finished with five touchdown passes, continuing his good form from the opening game of the season.

The game had turned in the third quarter after the teams went in level at half-time, as Pete Carroll's team outscored their opponents 14-3.

  2. Week two round-up

Week two of the 2020 NFL season continued on Sunday with Tom Brady claiming his first win since joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers while the Dallas Cowboys staged an unlikely comeback and the defending champions - the Kansas City Chiefs - emerged victorious in the first game of the season to go to overtime.

  3. Super Bowl winners claim overtime victory

Los Angeles Chargers 20-23 Kansas City Chiefs

Rookie quarterback Justin Herbert was denied victory on his NFL debut as Harrison Butker's franchise record-tying 58-yard field goal gave the Kansas City Chiefs an overtime win against the Los Angeles Chargers.

The winning kick with 1:55 left was Butker's second 58-yarder of the day, which saw him match the club record set by Nick Lowery in 1983 and 1985.

Veteran QB Tyrod Taylor was ruled out by a pre-game injury so Herbert started and this year's number six draft pick led the Chargers to a 17-6 lead in the second half.

But the Chiefs roused themselves with 11 unanswered points in the fourth quarter, including a 54-yard touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes to Tyreek Hill. Mahomes then set up Butker's game-tying field goal as time expired with a 12-play, 63-yard drive spanning the final 2:27 of regulation time.

  4. Late games round-up

Kyler Murray accounted for 353 total yards and three touchdowns to steer the Arizona Cardinals to a 30-15 win over the Washington Football Team.

The Cardinals scored the game's first 20 points and shut Washington out for nearly three quarters, with Murray completing 26 of 38 passes for 286 yards and one touchdown. He rushed for another two TDs against a Washington pass rush that racked up eight sacks in their opener last week.

The Baltimore Ravens also have a 2-0 record after beating the Houston Texans 33-16. Lamar Jackson threw a touchdown pass and Mark Ingram rushed for a touchdown, while LJ Fort added a fumble return for a TD.

  5. Best of the early games

Dak Prescott became the first man in NFL history to throw for 400 yards and run for three touchdowns in the same game as the Dallas Cowboys pulled off an improbable comeback to beat the Atlanta Falcons 40-39.

The Cowboys trailed 20-0 in the first quarter, 39-24 with less than five minutes left in the game and 39-30 with less than two on the clock.

Prescott then scored his third TD but the Cowboys also had to recover an onside kick to retain hope. The kick rolled slowly, giving the Falcons plenty of time to recover before it went 10 yards, but Atlanta didn't make a play for the ball and as soon as it hit the 10-yard mark, CJ Goodwin jumped on it to give Dallas possession.

Prescott’s pass to rookie CeeDee Lamb made the ground for Greg Zuerlein to complete the comeback with a 46-yard field goal on the game's final play.

Tom Brady threw a touchdown pass and Leonard Fournette scored two touchdowns as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Carolina Panthers 31-17 to give Brady his first win since joining from the New England Patriots this summer.

Stephen Gostkowski kicked a game-winning field goal for the second match running while Ryan Tannehill completed four touchdown passes to help the Tennessee Titans to a 33-30 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

  6. Steelers, Packers & Bills improve to 2-0 record

Ben Roethlisberger completed 29 of 41 passes for 311 yards, two touchdowns and an interception, as the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Denver Broncos 26-21.

That ensured the Steelers maintained their winning start, along with the Green Bay Packers after they beat the Detroit Lions 42-21.

Aaron Jones rushed for two touchdowns and caught a touchdown pass from Aaron Rodgers. That helped the running back finish with 168 yards on 18 carries and 68 yards from four receptions.

Quarterback Josh Allen put together a career-best passing game as the Buffalo Bills clinched a 31-28 victory over the Miami Dolphins.

Allen set career-highs for touchdown passes (four), passing yards (417) and passer rating (147.0) while completing 24 of 35 attempts, with his last two TD passes helping the Bills come back after the Dolphins took a brief 20-17 lead with 10:11 remaining.

  7. Injuries mar early games

Sunday's early games saw a host of key players sustain injuries which put them out, including San Francisco 49ers’ quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and defensive end Nick Bosa.

Garoppolo threw two touchdown passes to tight end Jordan Reed as last season’s Super Bowl runners-up won 31-13 at the New York Jets.

Although an ankle injury prevented Garoppolo playing in the second half, the 49ers limited the Jets to two field goals and a late touchdown.

Mitchell Trubisky threw two touchdown passes as the Chicago Bears held on for a 17-13 win over the New York Giants, who lost running back Saquon Barkley to a knee injury.

Elsewhere, Tyler Higbee caught three touchdown passes from Jared Goff as the Los Angeles Rams held off a Philadelphia Eagles fightback to win 37-19.

Jonathan Taylor rushed for 101 yards and one touchdown as the Indianapolis Colts intercepted Kirk Cousins three times en route to a 28-11 win over the Minnesota Vikings.

  8. Full-time - Chiefs win!

Los Angeles Chargers 20-23 Kansas City Chiefs

What a kick from Harrison Butker.

Three attempts he had there and he completed them all. First there was a false start and then Anthony Lynn used a time-out. Nothing unnerved him.

Huge divisional win for the reigning Super Bowl champions.

Huge mistake from Melvin Ingram. He jumps offside with the Chiefs in a third and eight situation.

Mahomes takes full advantage and rushes for the first down.

Just over five to go here...

  14. Turn over

Los Angeles Chargers 20-20 Kansas City Chiefs

It's three and out for LA...

Having got to a manageable fourth and one, Anthony Lynn had to have been thinking about going for it there. Will it cost them?

  18. Post update

Los Angeles Chargers 20-17 Kansas City Chiefs

Another first down! The Chiefs are down in the Redzone.

    10 seconds to go!

  19. Full-time

Arizona Cardinals 30-15 Washington Football Team

NFC East rivals Dallas produced a stunning comeback earlier, but there's no similar shocks for Washington.

Arizona Cardinals hold out for an excellent win. The NFC West is the toughest division in football, but I think the Cardinals are going to be one of the teams to watch this year.

  20. Post update

Los Angeles Chargers 20-17 Kansas City Chiefs

    Really Patrick? Really!?

21-yard rush from the quarterback and the Chiefs are in range to at very least tie this game with a field-goal.

    0:44 on the clock...
