  16. Stoke team news

Man City v Stoke (Wed, 20:00 GMT)

"I am hoping that given our experience against Spurs, who are a very good side, we will be better and be an irritant to Man City. It is between Man City and Spurs to run Chelsea close now, but I think it is Chelsea's to lose now to be perfectly honest."

He also brings us some team news...

" Bruno Martins Indi over extended his knee on Saturday and is very doubtful for the game on Wednesday. He has no significant damage, and he may miss out. We are grateful that the injury isn't too serious. Glen Johnson has an injury to his shoulder. Marko [Arnautovic] is ill from the weekend too.  Xherdan Shaqiri is fit and available which is good news for us. We will see how Marko is tomorrow."

  17. 'Ramadan is making an impact'

Man City v Stoke (Wed, 20:00 GMT)

According to Mark Hughes, Arnautovic has taken team-mate Ramadan Sobhi under his wing.

"Ramadan is making an impact and is in the team on merit. He is very level-headed, but we are excited by him. We can't get too ahead of ourselves - he is a young guy. We have progressed him at the right rate and will continue to do so."

Hughes also spoke about their next opponents in Manchester City...

  18. 'We want him to score more goals'

Man City v Stoke (Wed, 20:00 GMT)

    Marko Arnautovic

A Marko Arnautovic double helped Stoke ease to victory against a struggling Middlesbrough on Saturday - Hughes appeared to be delighted with the team's performance.

"It was a good reaction from the guys on Saturday. We acquitted ourselves really well and produced a really professional performance.

"Marko takes as much enjoyment from creating chances as scoring - I was the exact opposite. We want him to score more goals. When Marko is playing well and scoring goals then we are a better team for that. He is a big player for us and clearly influences us."

  19. Stoke news conference

Man City v Stoke (Wed, 20:00 GMT)

Earlier we brought you the joyous tweets from Jack Butland who, having been out of action for 11 months with an ankle injury, has been given the all clear by his surgeon to rejoin team training.

His manager Mark Hughes says they have been waiting for this news for a long time.

"Hopefully we can get him playing again soon".
