Joey Martin's goal in overtime sealed victory for top of the table Cardiff Devils in a hugely competitive Elite League game at the Viola Arena.

Layne Ulmer and Mark Richardson twice put Devils ahead in the first period, with Dylan Olsen and Luke Pither replying each time for Panthers.

The visitors then went 4-2 up through Chris Stewart and Alex Guptill.

But a third-period fightback saw Stephen Dixon and Ulmer find the net, before Devils snatched it in overtime.

Sunday's home win backed up Devils' 4-2 sucess at Glasgow Clan the previous evening.

Sean Bentivoglio struck twice in the third period as Devils edged to victory after squandering a two-goal lead.

Evan Mosey and Martin gave Devils the advantage in the opening period, before Matt Haywood got the hosts back on level terms with goals in the second and third.

But Devils pulled away again as Bentivoglio's double sealed the win.

Devils next face Belfast Giants in a home double-header, playing the Giants on both Saturday, 19 January and the following afternoon.
