Defending champions Cardiff Devils rose to the top of the Elite League with a home win over Sheffield Steelers.
Justin Faryna and Paul Crowder struck in the first periods with the former adding another in the second.
Joey Haddad scored Devil's fourth before Andreas Jamtin replied for the visitors and neither team hit the net in the final period.
Devils aim to stay top when they host Braehead Clan at Ice Arena Wales in the league on Sunday, 17 December.
