Nottingham Panthers boss Corey Neilson says his return to the Great Britain coaching set-up is a "privilege".

The 39-year-old Canadian has joined the backroom team to work with coach Pete Russell and assistant coach Tommy Watkins.

Neilson, who has previously been involved as a player and assistant coach, said: "I'm thrilled. Great Britain is a real passion of mine.

"There are a lot of great people and it is privilege to be back."

Neilson, who begins his ninth year as Panthers coach next season, won the Elite League play-offs and Challenge Cup in 2015-16 to take his tally to 11 major trophies.

He added: "Developing British players is something I really get satisfaction from and I cannot wait to get involved with GB again."
