Manchester Phoenix go down 9-4 to Guildford Flames

Manchester Phoenix

An injury-depleted Manchester Phoenix lost 9-4 away to Guildford Flames to leave them sixth in the Premier League.

Martin Cingel and Juraj Faith had given Phoenix an early 2-1 lead, but despite two more from Slava Koulikov the Flames ran out easy winners.

It was a turnaround from their form on Saturday when they beat Telford Tigers 9-5 at the Altrincham Ice Dome.

Owner Neil Morris said: "We will soldier on until we get bodies back and continue to play attractive hockey."
