The Belfast Giants were four points clear at the top of the Elite League despite losing 2-1 to Cardiff Devils at the Odyssey Arena on Saturday night.
Phil Hill put Cardiff ahead in the first period, Jeff Mason equalised in the second period, but Kenton Smith scored the winner soon after.
The Giants had beaten Fife Flyers 6-3 at the same venue on Friday night.
Benoit Doucet scored two and the other home goals came from Jon Pelle, George Awada, Tom Dignard and Darryl Lloyd.
Steven McAlpine, Mark Hamilton and Matt Cohen netted for the visitors on a night when seven of the nine goals were scored during powerplays.
