Trainer Stephen Arthur won three of the five races at the traditional Easter Monday season opener at Jersey's Les Landes course.
Nordic Affair, Anfield Road and Athania all triumphed in wet conditions.
Meanwhile Fast Freddie, ridden by Matthew Lawson and trained by Angie Corson, was an Easter winner again, claiming the Jersey Race Club Public Bar Championship.
The Tony Le Brocq-trained Grey Panel triumphed in the final race.
There had been concerns in the build-up to the event about the firmness of the ground after the recent dry spell on the island.
But rain on Monday changed the course conditions to good to soft.
Crowds were down on the 2011 Easter Monday event which attracted more than 3,000 racegoers.
Jersey Race Club president Christopher Edwards estimated about 500 people braved the conditions this year.
He told BBC Radio Jersey: "Last year we had a super day and we had a massive crowd and it got the season and our finances off to a very good start.
"This year I'm afraid it was the opposite. It's not the ideal start but we've got eight more meetings."
Jersey trainer Alyson Malzard failed to land any winners despite having 12 of the 29 runners.
