World champions Australia proved too strong for Great Britain's men as they powered to a 4-1 victory in the Champions Trophy group stage.
Australia dominated Sunday's match in Auckland, which had been postponed for 24 hours due to a waterlogged pitch.
The reigning champions were 2-0 up at half-time and Simon Mantell's response in the 55th minute was not enough.
"We started well and were very much in the game until Australia scored," said GB coach Jason Lee.
"The players were made to work hard and I know that they will be disappointed, but we had some really good spells of play throughout both halves."
Britain began their campaign by beating Pakistan 2-1 on Saturday, while Australia opened their title defence with a 3-2 win over Spain, and the Kookaburras were quickly in front on Sunday.
Goals from Matthew Butturini and Matt Ghodes put Australia in control before Mantell gave Britain hope by cutting in from the left to score inside the near post.
However, Jamie Dwyer's strike and a penalty corner from Luke Doerner sealed matters and left Britain needing to beat Spain in Monday's final group game.
