Team GB: Rio 2016 hopeful Kelly Simm excited at Glasgow return
Kelly Simm is relishing a return to Glasgow after being selected to represent Great Britain at the World Gymnastics Championships this month.
The 20-year-old, who won team gold at the Commonwealth Games last summer, has been named in the six-strong squad.
Team GB must finish in the top eight in the Scottish city to secure their spot at the Rio 2016 Olympics.
"It's amazing to be selected. I was so excited, I just couldn't wait to tell people," Simm told BBC South Today.
"To get named in the team, I am over the moon."
Sisters Rebecca and Ellie Downie, Ruby Harrold, Amy Tinkler, Claudia Fragapane and Simm complete the Team GB women's line-up for the event which runs from 23 October until 1 November.
Simm, from Southampton, was part of a GB team including Fragapane which finished sixth in the World Championships final in China last year.
Trials for the latest squad began two months ago and Simm is delighted to have impressed, after watching from the sidelines in 2013.
"Every team I make, I would never take it for granted because I have been reserve so many times, so I appreciate every team I make," she said.
"It teaches you to go home and work harder.
"That kind of drives you sometimes because I do not want that feeling again because it is horrible."
