Great Britain gymnast Dan Purvis claimed silver at the 2013 Glasgow World Cup after being pipped to the title by Oleg Verniaiev of Ukraine.
Purvis led through the first four apparatus, but Verniaiev moved into first place following his parallel bars performance and held on to it after the high bar.
Verniaiev took gold with 89.798, Purvis scoring 89.131.
"It was a great battle between me and Verniaiev," said Purvis.
"He is a brilliant gymnast and I really enjoyed fighting it out with him to the end.
"The crowd were amazing, showing so much support for everyone.
"Competing in front of a home crowd is always special and, with the Commonwealth Games and World Championships [in 2015] to come, I'm really looking forward to competing in Glasgow again in the future.
"Overall it's been a good year for me and to end with silver from this World Cup and bronze from last weekend [at the Stuttgart World Cup] is a good way to finish 2013."
Purvis had started off with a brilliant floor routine which earned him the highest score of 15.433, while his team-mate Sam Oldham came seventh overall.
In the women's event, Romania's Larisa Iordache took gold with Great Britain's Ruby Harrold and Raer Theaker in seventh and eighth places, respectively.
