Austria's Christine Wolf won her first Ladies European Tour title after shooting the joint lowest round of the final day at the Indian Open.

Wolf's three-under-par 69 saw her finish on 11 under, three clear of Norway's Marianne Skarpnord.

England's Meghan MacLaren had been one off the lead heading into Sunday but a 72 saw her finish four shots back.

England's Charlotte Thompson and Scotland's Catriona Matthew, also shot 69s but both finished down the field.

Wolf, 30, said she was "relieved" to come through the tournament unscathed - last year she was joint leader heading to the final hole but a double bogey ruined her chances of victory.

"I didn't think, in my wildest dreams, that I would actually pull through and I'm just excited right now," she said.

Yet it may be her local caddie, Ajay, who took the most from the win, after blaming himself for last year's failure.

"He texted me all of last year and even at Christmas time," Wolf explained.

"He said, 'I'm so sorry, ma'am, I think it was my fault'. I said, 'Well the only thing you could have done differently was hit that shot for me', so it was nice having him there and I think he's super excited as well."
