@100 Sorry but I do not see the irony. Even if you believe Poulter talks up his own skill level somewhat, that has not in the slightest led to him becoming a top golfer. Holing puts and nailing drives is down to skill and practice. Sport is one profession where actions speak louder than words!
#100 WC. Me obsessed with rankings, “you” started by claiming you were ranked 1023, remember??Now you’re memories going eh..Oh & by the way 26th does make you a top player, your denial on that makes you look just like you are.. It doesn’t make you “the” top player, just “a” top player🙄
@mikecYou're the one who seems obsessed with rankings, and I've never once said LW or LD were poor players.@amrchair...The irony of you saying no one can blag their way to the top on an article about Poulter is wonderfully ironic
25th best golfer is a top player. When you watch some of the thousands of pro golfers - not good enough to make the top 200 - play, you realise just how good the top guys are. Sport is by far the most competitive profession to get into as it is purely based on talent and no one can 'blag' their way in or stay at the top based on reputation or past successes - you can in some other professions!
Is it on here we congratulate CT P
#96. Posted by Whisky and Chips @mikec Being 26th certainly does not make you a top player, it makes you about 25 places below top player. So with millions of golfers in the world #26 isn't a top player. You're hatred makes you such a bitter person. You've posted here many times LW & LD were poor players as No 1's Now your'e saying No1 is a top player. Make your mind up.🤣

Following on my comments earlier, Poulter clearly is a decent golfer and is playing particularly well at the mo however when he made that foolish comment about Tiger and him even he must of recognised that he ought to think before he speaks...nope 15/20 years on and I still wince at some of the quotes that are attributed to him.
I certainly admire Poults' achievements as he's probably not the most naturally talented golfer but has had to work dam hard to get where he has since turning Pro with a handicap of 4. This, I might add takes alot of dedication and time and now he's freewheeling and enjoying his golf, after coming back from a painful athritic foot injury and winning last year at the Houston Open has proved this.

78. Posted by abettingmanIn grand scheme of things he's a good golfer but never in a million years a 'top' player. Wasn't Poulter voted one of the two most over-rated golfers in an anonymous survey of pros in the U.S. a few years ago? I think that the opinion of his peers speaks volumes. (I think the other one was Rickie Fowler).
he's obviously the sort of guy who gets super psyched up for the moment....perfect for short bursts like ryder cup but perhaps not conducive to a patient methodical approach that is demanded at most majors...
