Ireland's Leona Maguire lies six shots off the lead after firing an impressive four-under-par 68 in round three of the Australian Ladies Classic in Bonville.

Playing in her first Ladies European Tour event since turning professional last summer, Maguire had added a second-round 75 to an opening 73.

Maguire, who shares 10th place, is level par for the tournament.

Swede Madelene Sagstrom leads on six under after also firing a 68, one shot ahead of a three-way tie for second.

Maguire recovered from a bogey at the par-four sixth to record five birdies during the remainder of her round.

Maguire, who was the top-ranked amateur in women's golf for 131 consecutive weeks, earned a Tour card in December.

The County Cavan woman, who played in numerous events on the Ladies PGA Tour and European Tour during a glittering amateur career, won the Ladies British Amateur Championship in 2017.

She finished fifth at qualifying school to secure the highest category card available for the 2019 season.
