Rory McIlroy believes moving the Irish Open to July from next year will attract more of the world's top players to the tournament.
The event to be staged at Portstewart on 6-9 July will be immediately followed by the Scottish Open and then The Open at Royal Birkdale.
"Guys will come over early to get links preparation, so the Irish Open's date is great for that," said world number four McIlroy who won the 2016 Irish Open at the K Club near Dublin.
