BBC Sport - Ulster Hurling final's clash with Munster decider a mistake - Dominic McKinley

Ulster final date must change - McKinley

Departing Antrim joint-manager Dominic McKinley says he would have not have attended Sunday's Ulster final against Armagh if he hadn't been involved with the Saffrons team.

McKinley says that the Ulster Council's decision in recent years to schedule the provincial hurling decider for the same day as the Munster Final is a mistake.

The Loughgiel man confirmed that he and fellow joint manager Sambo McNaughton are stepping down from the short-term roles following Sunday's 6-21 to 4-14 win over Armagh at Owenbeg.

Antrim had to work hard to earn a 15th straight provincial title against an Armagh side chasing the Orchard County's first Ulster crown.
