Who would, in their right mind, want to be the number 2 driver at Red Bull. It is the kiss of death for anyone who takes the job.Just look at the long list of drivers. Not one of them has either done well at Red Bull, except for Webber until Multi 21 came along, and none have achieved anything since. If a driver has any brains they'd steer well clear of that drive. Anything else is better.
Another option for Red Bull would see if they can tempt Fanando Alonso back into F1, talented and experienced plus he would have a better car to drive than he did with Mclaren. Might just shine on Max's parade thouhg and would FA want to drive as a number two being a double world champ and with so much experience to offer that would be a sticking point possibly. An avenue worth exporing though.

How many times have we seen a middling driver (still very good!) pushed above his level. You could argue ClK is above his station, but he's only been there for less than two years and where was MV after 2 years
There is a massive difference between the two RB drivers, not only does Max finish in front of Gasly every single time, this time him and Moanington also finished over a minute before the rest of the field. Gasly's result are disappointing to say the least. Before the season people were telling me Gasly would drive circles around Max... Sunday Max literally drove a big circle (lap) round Gasly.
Have to feel for the guy, he's in the lions den having Verstappen as his yard stick but he simply isn't getting nearly as much out of the car as him. Who would they replace him with though? I always though Sainz was hard done by when Max got promoted, there wasn't much between them at Torro Rosso, he suffers from being one of those guys who just quietly gets the job done though, no fireworks.
I wonder how many young drivers are wary of joining the Red Bull academy because of the ruthlessness of Marko?
Must be a hard situation to be in for him. lacking confidence although he has the ability. I do wonder how much support he is getting in the team when they clearly favour max
We’ve seen this before, car built around the no1 driver and the no2 driver suffers. You only have to look at Vettel at RB and his earlier years at Fer to see that. Say what you like about Merc at least their car has consistently been a drivers car and not built specifically for Ham, this is why they continually win the Constructors Trophy as you need both cars getting points to do so.
Put Carlos Sainz in that RedBull, lets see if MV still wins, because ppl are forgetting how unlucky Sainz was in 2016 in that toro rosso.Sainz been the driver of the 1st half of the season in my opinion
"He's doing a pretty decent job" = 'P45 & on the dole' Maybe?
Difficult times for RB and Merc to find a suitable driver for next season as they are looking at supporting roles. I can't see anybody matching MV or LH so the they need to look for consistency, though Bottas does provide this to some extent already,The patriotic romantic in me would love to see Norris and Russel in the seats :)
