I see the punishment they have given max is severe. Think I would rather have done a weeks jail time rather than have to watch a Formula E race 😁
Max verstappen is to appeal his sentence to the court of human rights. Apparently watching formula e is a cruel and inhumane punishment.
At last Zak Brown has the team that he wanted. Hopefully, this will be the start of a new chapter for McLaren.
Could this be the first step for Porsche to enter F1 as an engine supplier, following on from their Le Mans success?
McLaren have been in decline for a number of years. To arrest this, they need to start at the very top.The shareholders need to ask themselves why things have gone so far downhill?Eric Boulier was scapegoated but even after his exit the decline continued. Who made the decision to go with the Renault engine and lose the tens of millions from Honda?What value does Zak Brown contribute?
@91 - Roger, that's a rather literal-minded response. I know Pick is on Freeview - otherwise it would not be the 'free-to-air' coverage. But my point was it is minority-interest channel with tiny viewing figures that specialises in repeats. Barely anyone watches it. Sky and Channel 4 reached a well-publicised agreement over F1 last year. Google it.
@71. Posted by MaadMatt"@67 - Where did you hear that?"In articles around last September on here and various F1 news sites. Backed up by a news item on the $ky F1 website stating that highlights and the British GP would be on Pick exclusively in 2019.Are you saying that's changed?"...channel like Pick which barely anyone knows exists."Hardly, it's on Freeview LCN 11 Sherlock.
@77 - I think the scum that rang me multiple times about PPI today before I block them would be fine for those jobs as they would be real jobs!
I sincerely hope he is allowed to his job properly without interference. At times F1 seems to be going the way of Premier League management. And blaming Fernando for McLaren's ills is rediculous. I never liked Ron Dennis but could respect him.
McLaren's problems were compounded by having the overrated FA as the number 1 driver.Apparently he gave little meaningful feedback to Ferrari either. Most top drivers can tell the team what the limitations of the car are and suggest ways to improve.FA was fixated on the engine and gave no feedback on the characteristics of the car itself. Better luck with Carlos Sainz I hope
Having the German and Austrian national anthems for Mercedes and Redbull is a charade, these teams are no more German and Austrian than Fred Dinenage.Check the licence plates on the trucks that roll into the European paddocks and the accents of their staff. The locations of their HQ. They cook a find Wiener-schnitzel in Tilbrook, Milton Keynes I tell you.
Amazing they have got rid of others, yet the one guy who designed that pig of a 2018 car is still there. I had high hopes for McLaren when they signed him, He was Adrian Newey's right hand man at Red Bull before going to McLaren, yet no decent chassis last year. I hope with the appointment of all these top end people, " too many cooks messing with an empty pan of broth " .
@62 something you take the time to click on a then post a comment.So you must have a interest, or a very sad person.
@48 That was for 1 race, not the whole season, please get your facts right before posting.it will stop you looking like a muppet.
@82 Nobody Special 🤣🤣🤣
F1 has had its day, FE is the future anyway.
I expect a Williams resurgence this year, what with their driver line up and being able to build a new car therefore ironing out the inbuilt flaw they had last year. McLaren? No such luck. They need another year to gel the new team together and await James Key's arrival. Bottom 2 again. 2020 will be their resurgence, and if it isn't, the buck stops with Zak Brown this time
