309. 70 points? Only if LH has a catastrophic run of misfortune will that happen. You forget that SV was lucky not to fall 29 points behind in Austria while KR ultimately gave him the win last race by taking out LH in a race where Merc had better tyre degOnly 8 points in it and SV has already made mistakes. Wonder if he will bottle it again when the pressure ramps up just like he did last year
294 contd. Also, is it just me or is he going for the "Jean-Michel Jarre plugged into a mains socket" look these days?Scary! :-)
Vettel to win by 70 points
Joylon Parmer for chief f1 writer. Biased Benson be gone please.
Ferrari are crashing into other cars because they are desperate to win. Some of Vettel's driving is immature and reckless but we know how much of a spoilt kid he can be which was embarrassing for him and his team last season. Vettel's attitude has improved this season but still completing crazy manoeuvres in his car this season. I say give the drivers a 60 second penalty for reckless driving.
@291 - criticism is unfair, there are only 20 places available on the grid, 4 world champions Lewis, Seb, Fernando and Kimi. That leaves 16, there 2 pay drivers at Williams, that's 14, Bottas, Ricciardo, Verstappen, Hulkenburg are there on merit, LeClerc is a rising star, Sainz Jr. Is part of Red Bull succession plan, that leaves 8, multi year deals in some cases, maybe 3/4 seats available.
302...That very 'lack of fan boy content' seems to be the reason some posters prefer AB. They get their reaffirmation from him.I hope JP continues to disappoint those users with his objectivity and insight.
300...I think the key is whether MAP can get on top of their tyre issue. I think it's the biggest single issue they have, especially as the SP/FR/UK spec tyre is now history.SF need to keep the pressure on in case the German team do manage to get a handle on their problem. If that happens the machinery edge could give LH another WDC. If not, a fifth for SV looks on the cards.
@301 The GhoulI'll see your "Stopped watching it when they introduced success ballast" and raise you :~I stopped watching when the Stewards consistently showed blatant favouritism to their "Mummy's boy cry baby".. Drivers. I dip in now and again and to this observer they are still at it with their blind eye turning whilst penalising those drivers not on their obvious favourites list. BOO
Irrespective of what JP achieved or underachieved in that "top" F1 car ... ;)... those snippets of his I've read so far are full of salient content with near zero fan-boy content.Keep it up JP.
TCR - Do you mean the British Touring Car Championship? How's that going now. I stopped watching it when they introduced success ballast. Because I like real racing. I think so many people would prefer Ron Howard to be the racing director.
