Christijan Abers has resigned as Caterham's chief executive officer.
The Dutch former F1 driver was installed after the team was bought by a Swiss-Middle Eastern consortium in July from Tony Fernandes.
Albers said he had "resigned for private reasons and to spend more time with my family".
He has been replaced by his former assistant, Italian Manfredo Ravetto. The team's "adviser" Colin Kolles, their de facto boss, remains in place.
