Coventry City 0-2 Huddersfield Town: Faustino Anjorin scores first Terriers goal in win

Huddersfield Town's Tino Anjorin (second left) scores against Coventry
Faustino Anjorin scored his first goal for Huddersfield in his sixth appearance for the club after arriving on loan from Chelsea in January

Faustino Anjorin scored his first Huddersfield Town goal to ensure the Terries sealed a top-four finish with victory at Coventry City.

The victory leaves the Terriers, who have just one match remaining, equal on points with Nottingham Forest in third and three points adrift of Bournemouth in second spot.

Huddersfield's improbable aspirations of automatic promotion now hinge on Forest beating second-placed Bournemouth on Tuesday, and both the Cherries and Reds losing heavily on the final day, while the Terriers would need to win big against Bristol City to overturn a large goal difference deficit.

Harry Toffolo's brilliant strike in the final minute of the first half put Huddersfield ahead at Coventry with just their second shot on goal.

Terriers goalkeeper Lee Nicholls made a series of fine saves against a Coventry side that had 22 shots, before victory was sealed from the penalty spot late on by 20-year-old Chelsea loanee Anjorin following Ben Wilson's foul on Lewis O'Brien.

Viktor Gyokeres eventually beat Nicholls in the final minute, but it proved too late for the Sky Blues who slip to 11th in the table.

Martyn Waghorn was first to be denied by Championship goalkeeper of the season Nicholls in the eighth minute.

After Sky Blues keeper Wilson kept Jordan Rhodes out, Dominic Hyam and Jamie Allen were both foiled by the excellent Nicholls before Toffolo broke the deadlock.

Gustavo Hamer and Callum O'Hare had efforts saved by Nicholls early in the second half, while Anjorin played Danny Ward in for a big chance at the other end which Wilson was equal to.

Anjorin took his chance to make it 2-0 from the spot, before Gyokeres salvaged a goal for the hard-working Sky Blues.
