Blackpool 0-3 Huddersfield Town - Terriers pile on misery to out-of-form Seasiders

Huddersfield Town scored three times in 14 second-half minutes at Blackpool to secure a fourth Championship victory of the season.

The Terriers went ahead through Josh Koroma's superbly-placed curler from 25-yards just after half-time.

Matty Pearson, who scored an own goal in Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Stoke, headed in his third goal of the season.

Jonathan Hogg put the seal on the win with a thumping half-volley into the top corner from the edge of the area.

Victory for Huddersfield puts them into the play-off places in the early-season table while Blackpool, who have won only once this season, slip into the relegation zone.

The hosts had the better early chances as Kenny Dougall's back-post effort was saved by Lee Nicholls and Shayne Lavery headed into the side-netting.

But Blackpool failed to replicate their first-half spark after the break and the game was over by the hour mark.

Huddersfield took an early second-half lead at Stoke at the weekend before losing 2-1, but there was to be no repeat after Koroma's 48th-minute opener.

Six minutes later, Pearson powerfully headed home his third goal in the past five Championship matches from Danel Sinani's in-swinging corner.

Former Aston Villa midfielder Hogg scored only his third goal on his 259th appearance for Town and his excellent long-range finish rounded off the victory.

Blackpool head coach Neil Critchley told BBC Radio Lancashire:

"You're actually scratching your head thinking we haven't done a lot wrong in this game.

"People from the outside will think we were well beaten and it was disaster, but it was far from it.

"If we are over-run and outplayed I will the first to hold my hands up - and if the players' mentality of attitude is not right then they'll be the first to know, but it wasn't tonight."

Huddersfield head coach Carlos Corberan told BBC Radio Leeds:

"It was not an easy game and the first half was very balanced, but in the second half we found the solutions.

"We played very well in the second half, dominating all the key moments - the set-pieces in defence and the set-pieces in attack.

"It was a difficult and tough game but the performance of the team was good."
