West Ham United 0-1 Tottenham Hotspur: Lucy Quinn earns Spurs third straight WSL win

Lucy Quinn nets her first senior goal to give Spurs victory in the WSL London derby

Olli Harder's debut as West Ham boss ended in defeat as Spurs earned a third straight Women's Super League win.

Gemma Davison's pull-back teed up Lucy Quinn to fire home her first goal of the season in a quiet first half.

West Ham keeper Mackenzie Arnold had to tip over Davison's inswinging corner, but the visitors then had to withstand a late Hammers onslaught.

Emily van Egmond saw her goalbound shot blocked and then headed a corner straight at Spurs keeper Becky Spencer.

Rianna Dean hit the post for the visitors, while Spencer saved from Grace Fisk's header as United's wait for a first league point at home this season goes on.

Both sides struggled to create clear-cut chances following a five-week lay-off after postponements the previous weekend, with Quinn's winner the only shot on target from the visitors.

The Hammers - who offset the departure of top-scorer Rachel Daly by making Van Egmond's loan deal permanent - registered nine attempts on target, but Spencer was never severely tested as Rehanne Skinner extended her perfect record as Tottenham head coach to three wins from three.

After picking up just one point from their opening five games, Spurs are now up to seventh after five games unbeaten, while West Ham stay 10th after their seventh defeat of the season.
