Ten-man Morton missed the chance to move back into the Scottish Championship play-off places, despite coming from behind to draw with Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Sean McGinty gave the hosts an early lead, only for Shane Sutherland and Daniel MacKay to put the Highlanders ahead after only 15 minutes.

Morton's Rabin Omar was then shown a second yellow card after 28 minutes.

But, despite that disadvantage, Cameron Blues netted a leveller for the hosts.

The point keeps them in fifth, a point behind Raith Rovers, while Inverness stay eighth.

It was the visitors first match in a month and John Robertson's men still have games in hand over all their Championship rivals.

Morton manager Anton McElhone: "Tremendous performance from the guys. It shows the determination, hunger and desire.

"We knew that on the transition we could catch them out and the run from Cameron Blues was excellent. We are trying to strengthen; we've got a few more days and we are trying to do stuff."

Inverness CT scorer Daniel MacKay: "It was good to get back in the team and get the goal - it was a brilliant ball through from Aaron Doran.

"But it's about the result and from it nearly being a really good three points, to it just being the one point is disappointing."
