Darlington's former Bolton Wanderers defender Nicky Hunt has been released from hospital after being injured in his side's game with Boston United.
The National League North match was abandoned on Tuesday night after the 37-year-old was knocked unconscious.
He was treated on the pitch for more than an hour for a head injury suffered in the 87th minute before being taken to hospital by ambulance at 23:00 GMT.
Hunt was released from hospital at about 05:00 GMT on Wednesday.
"We are pleased to inform everyone that following a scan on his head and neck at North Tees Hospital early this morning, Nicky has been given the all clear," a Darlington statement read.
"Once again, we would like to thank the physios from both Darlington and Boston who gave Nicky so much care and attention on the field, their professionalism prevented the situation from getting even worse, and also to the medical staff for their attention.
"We would also like to thank everyone from across the football spectrum for sending their best wishes to Nicky."
Hunt played 127 times for Bolton in the Premier League and also had spells with Birmingham, Derby and Bristol City.
