Dundee 0-0 Alloa Athletic: Neil Parry saves deny Dark Blues

Alloa have gone five games without a win but stay out of the relegation places

Dundee made it four Scottish Championship games unbeaten but missed a chance to draw level with third-top Ayr United after a draw with Alloa.

A string of fine Neil Parry saves and wayward finishing mean Alloa stay a point clear of second-bottom spot.

In his first start since September following injury, Parry repelled first-half headers from Andrew Nelson and Jordon Forster.

He gathered another Forster header and pushed away Declan McDaid's free-kick.

Then, in added time, it was Parry to the rescue again as he was equal to Christophe Berra's goal-bound header.

Alloa have now gone five games without a win but remain ahead of Queen of the South, who drew 0-0 away to bottom side Partick Thistle.

Dundee manager James McPake: "We weren't clinical enough and we didn't get the breaks, but there was a load of positives and a clean sheet.

"I'm gutted for the players, it's a sore one and just one of those nights. Neil Parry didn't only have good saves, he had great saves - it was a top performance from him."

Alloa Athletic manager Peter Grant: "Neil Parry's a top quality goalkeeper, there's no doubt about that. Kieran Wright has been exceptional but I just felt Neil would give us that bigger presence.

"I think we earned our luck, bearing in mind we weren't just playing against 11 outfield players, we were playing against a referee, because some of his decisions were awful."
