Watfords biggest mistake was inexplicably sacking Dyche in 2012 for Zola. Ten managers later and look what Dyche has done at Burnley on a very modest budget in that time.
Perhaps the real question should be shall we employ better people who are really capable of assessing and then appointing the manager. A better process might offer a different result.
Hey guys. What are the chances that Marco Silva will be the next Watford manager for a second time
Love it how they say 'Watford can't get next appointment wrong'They will totally get it wrong like the previous managers
I distinctly remember BBCs so called expert pundits (the rest of us don,t understand the game btw) continually praising Watford & Southampton through player transfers & Managerial appointments....as clearly having operating models that really work. They,ll ll possibly be supporting the Waspi women by the end of the week.
Watford are just on the journey back to where they belong, no reason to get upset its a championship club that's been punching above its station for while, goodbye watford see you again in ten years
Just read the McNulty article regarding where it went wrong for QSF. What an absolute load of garbage!! I actually can't be bothered to give in-depth reasons why, but in a nutshell, there is no real substance to the article, it is un-balanced and shallow. Is this clown really the chief football writer. He doesn't know anything about football.
Money (salary) aside, this is the time for those so called famous and "talented' managers to put their hands up for this challenge to see if they can finish top 6 for Watford. I honestly do not believe they will dare to do that. Without an open cheque book, they are just nothing.
Blimey Phil McNulty – I’d hate to turn my back on you for fear of a big knife appearing.I’m a rugby boy who has a passing interest in football results and everytime it is a sensational headline by yourself it is to get a manager sacked.I wonder who feeds whom – do the media feed the owners or do the owners read your tripe?Grow up and have some class.
The fans should sack the board. Clearly THEY are unable to identify and appoint a suitable manager.
Time to appoint an Englishman. Someone who understands what the club and English football stand for. Troy Deeney player manager perhaps?
Watford is light years away from the club I followed in the 70’s & 80’s. The owners seem to be deluded enough to believe they’re an established premier league time, realistically they’re a top championship team who can flirt with a season or two in the Premier. No amount of changing managers will make them into Europe challengers while the Pozzos are in charge.
Chris Hughton is way out of Watford's 'league'. The Man has class and ability two things sadly lacking at that odious little pub team, so don't be expecting him to be wasting his time a Vicarage Road any time soon. Mike Bassett however.....
I suspect a team full of hard workers with the odd flair player may go for a grafter manager.
I supported Watford in the 70s. Can't be bothered now as I can't stand what football has become. As an Italophile I nevertheless have no idea why an Italian club is running Watford or why anyone bothers to take an interest in this pseudo parody of supporting your "local" team. I welcome the day when real fans of football just walk away.
