@350 I get your point but some don’t do any of those and they’re growing in numbers .I don’t and haven’t for a very long time.PS Who is bagpuss.?
All together now, except dutchblade, you can keep your gob shut. HE'S ONE OF OUR OWN, HE'S ONE OF OUR OWN, BILLY SHARP HE'S ONE OF OUR OWN! HE'S ONE OF OUR OWN, HE'S ONE OF OUR OWN, BILLY SHARP HE'S ONE OF OUR OWN!
Re: 326 dutchblade. ARE YOU A WEDNESDAY FAN IN DISGUISE? You certainly sound like one. You must be one of those Gobby Fans on Transfer Tavern! You too must have a short memory! I'd just like to remind you that had it not been for the leadership and the goals of Billy Sharp we would not be in the Premier League now. A few defeats and you'll be slagging off Chris Wilder next! Now shut your gob!
Blades should have played to the whistle but the same thing happens in the EFL free kick given and a booking given to the guy who puts the ball into the net why oh why oh why same game same rules

Who's goals helped Us get promoted from League 1 to Premier League? Who's got us a point at Bournemouth? Some expect Billy Sharp to work miracles when he hasn't played 90 mins since the end of last season!
Choose to keep going to home games. Choose to keep buying replica shirts. Choose to spend money at half time. Choose Mike Ashley
Played local football for years. Once did the same thing as the SU defenders & the opposition scored. We still won but got roasted by our manager after the match. Was "fined" my match pay & win bonus. Guess what? I never made the same mistake again. After that it was arm up, appeal, but keep playing just in case the whistle didn't get blown.
I agree with play to the whistle at all times but at the time I actually thought he'd blown his whistle. Only found out when looking online afterwards that apparently he hadn't, he'd only put the whistle to his mouth and my ears are playing tricks.I don't see the point in linesmen anymore, they should never be raising their flag for an offside when VAR is used.
#337Clearly you have never read the Laws of football, not rules. It clearly states that players should play to the whistle at all times .The assistant referee's flag is only an indication to the referee. It is a pity that PL players who earn in excess of £50,000 per week can't afford to buy a copy of the Laws of Association Football.
The toon four points off a UEFA place and five points off relegation.Spurs.Man Utd. Aresenal all bang average.Wolves and Leicester city motoring.A bunch of top managers gone and Everton and West Ham burning their way through 100 millionHopefully Steve Bruce laying the foundations and will have some money for the transfer window to bring in Jarrod Bowen and solve our striker situation.
Also, due to the pathetic 'controversy' of the legal goal, I don't think anyone is talking about how neat Shelvey's finish actually was, curved it around Henderson and tucked just inside the post.
SUFC can only be annoyed at themselves from last night, nothing wrong with the 2nd goal other than the fact they stopped. They played well across the pitch apart from in the NUFC box but even then I don't think anything was getting past Dubravka. NUFC are the first team this season to give SUFC the respect they deserve and they won because SUFC didn't know how to react to it.
306. Posted byBike Man"VAR is ruining the game. It has no discernible benefits"I offer that having a goal allowed because there was in fact no fault despite the linesman raising his flag is a very discernible benefit. The alternative is that Newcastle fail to score through no fault of their own. Playing to the whistle has never been so important yet still they stand there arm raised.
Tony @ 337. In answer to your question. Always. Don’t stop. Play to the whistle. The ref can and often does overrule the linesman and ultimately got it right. I don’t understand why this is so controversial
Chris Wilder talking nonsense about the game has changed and getting really wound up, simple fact as ever only the ref's whistle stops play, get over it and make sure your team remember that, Shelvey certainly did.
