#187 ani4aniI presume from your obvious lack of knowledge that your participation in sport is restricted to a fast sprint from sofa to fridge and back again.
WHY do PNE fans spend their time complaining they were robbed? That had to be one of the weakest and most boring matches Sky has shown for some time. PNE parked the bus and went for a 0 - 0. The goalie made a mistake and now PNE fans are going around like they lost the FA cup. STOP COMPLAINING...You're punching way above your ability and It's not like you're going to get promoted....EVER!!!
It seems when you aren't good enough to win fairly, you cheat.I'm sure the only person in the stadium who genuinely thought it was a penalty was the ref. Well, I'm assuming that he thought it was.
#186 - it was a very professional dive!!!!!!!If that is the sort of language we are going to start using then I fear for where the game is going to end up.
Edwards was through, running at full pelt. Had the keeper not dived at him then the ref wouldn't have had a decision to make, if a player gives the ref a decision to make then that is their fault. I believe Edwards would have gone down even if the keeper hadn't dived, purely because he was over stretched, it was not a dive. Had it been given against us I'd be annoyed, some you win, some you lose.
@189, not any more if the goalkeeper in the opinion of the referee is making a legitimate attempt to win the ball whilst conceding a penalty is not a red card.
Perhaps those complaining about the penalty Charlton got the other week should remember that West Brom's second goal was handball that wasn't given. Some you win, some you lose, just take it and move on...
Either Rudd should have been sent off for a foul or Edwards for diving (cheating) - neither was manifest so why is the guy a professional referee. He is either incompetent or dishonest.
If I remember rightly WBA were denied a play off final place last season through a Jack Grealish penalty that was also with minimal contact (a dive) ..............what goes around comes around! Its part of the modern game get over it!
@ 185. Posted by alb1on f you are going at top speed and off balance you will end up on the floor from even light contact, and that is what happened. It is called a tap tackle in rugby. If you're going at top speed and you though yourself on the ground in the penalty area, its called a dive in football
Kyle didn't break any EFL rules ...it was a very professional dive which his manager and most WBA fans will be happy with.Preston need to understand its just one point lost and move on.
If you are going at top speed and off balance you will end up on the floor from even light contact, and that is what happened. It is called a tap tackle in rugby. Not a penalty (as it would have gone out anyway) but to call it a dive just shows the desperation of the posters from Leeds.
173. Calm down. You can make your point without being rude. A clear goal scoring opportunity is not the only reason for brandishing a red card. Unless I missed it, the goalkeeper wasn't even shown a yellow. My point was that it seemed the ref was not 100% sure and in which case should not have given the penalty. Like all rules, they are still open to interpretation.
As an 'older' Baggies/football fan, some of today's penalty awards are laughable (not when you're on the wrong end of one!). A player clearly off balance & stretching to get a toe to the ball before the keeper, kicks it in a direction where, even if he stayed on his feet he wouldn't then catch it, but then falls over an offered arm or leg to get a penalty is pathetic. Referee's need to wise up!
Theres no VAR in Championship so Kyle edwards has tried his luck in the closing minutes, and the referee has brought it. Yes it was cheating, and yes it was a rotten decision. But I'll be the first to admit as a Leeds fan, my lot and I'm sure many other sides have benefited from shoddy officiating. Nice when it's to your teams advantage, but stinks when it's against you. Swings and roundabouts.
West Brom were a stain on the PL last time they were there. Hopefully if they go up they will try to play some football.
