Gooners....... Gunners....... Goners!
When Americans talk about football I just take them seriously, it just seems fake.
Positive signings but Arsenal defence is still weak. All top teams start from a strong base. Needed to sign a leader of the type of De Ligt, MacGuire or Van Dijk. 4th is the best we can hope for this season.
Mickey Mouse has just bought an Arsenal watch.
As a lifelong Gooner this pleases me immensely! It WILL take time, but they clearly mean business now. They have spent their own money as well ( work it out,it's not complicated) And the whole team are in place for the next decade. Just be patient and back the club!
Gunnersaurus is the real deal, mess with him at your peril, you dis Gunnersaurus you get squashed. He is harder way harder than Ruiz,
Somebody please enlighten me, have the kroenkes spent any money? We have spent monies not yet earned that's not KSE investment.
You'll be hard pressed to find any true Arsenal fan talking about us being genuine title challenger for at least another 2-3 years. Of course, they could win the title this year, but in reality, that isn't very likely to happen. What the new signings and the two wins have done is give fans cause for optimism. The board have at long last realised that investment was needed to become competitive.
So at last the yanks have woken up and seen that the defence was always weak and we all knew that before we went to Baku and before the yanks went to the opticians
435. sanjNo . there is less money in finishing 5th in the Premier League than finishing 4th or reaching Champions League final. That is why the American franchise of Kroenke Sports and Entertainment ,the 99% owner of Arsenal, has invented creative accounting, after July protest from 14 supporter groups ,to pretend there is more to £45m allocated in transfer window. Just a lot of fancy IOUs
Why are people talking about the need to buy Zaha? Far from a priority while we still lack any steel in defence and are short on creativity in midfield. Same old trap that’s left us behind top 3 for years now.
Arsenal fans very lucky to have owners like this but still they are not satisfied. Constant moaning and sniping because they can't keep up to the impossible standards set by Arsene. In danger of becoming loathed in the same way as the eternally dissatisfied Newcastle fans.
435. I don't think African shirt sales are going to plug a gap that size, however wishful the thinking. I'm sure the directors at the club know what they're doing and it's a calculated risk, but I do think they are taking a risk. All throughout the article they mention being aggressive. They've built their foundations on sand in a footballing sense, be interesting and exciting to see what happens.
434. Will. I think people don't realise how financially strong Arsenal are. As I said in a previous post our international fanbase is huge and the club are starting to tap into this. Theres more money for finishing 5th in the PL than winning the CL, yes it affects the bottom line but there is a bigger picture.
Pressure is on now. If Arsenal don't make the top four this season I can see this bringing financial difficulties, if not directly at the club, then with the financial fair play rules. I hope their owners are as good at manipulating the rules as a certain Manchester club's were. All the talk of 'good business's, I still see a cavernous hole in the middle of defence. The acid test is the derby.
The problem is that basing your strategy on a 45 min dismal display is not a good idea. And did they really do that ? I mean if you saw the Arsenal defence and appreciated how poor it was / is would you really rush out and buy David Luiz ?? IMO arsenal are still way behind City , L'pool, and Spurs.
425. Framps - thats still 're-investing' because they are entitled as shareholders to take that money out as dividends. there are far worse owners out there
The truth is that it is missing out on the CL for the 3rd year running that has transformed Arsenal’s transfer policy, and not losing last seasons Europa Cup Final. Only money hurts the Kroenke,s , although to be fair Josh does seem like he at least is trying to understand the game, and what the club means to the fans. This and of course the David Dein style shrewdness of Raul Sanllehi.
