Well done to sportyteach who summed up the game perfectly. Not a classic, never going to be given that both teams aware they're likely to be involved at the bottom end of the PL. Can't escape the fact that the better and harder working team won.
I predict a fairy tale ending in PL safety for the extraordinary rise of the Blades from League One. Not as fashionable as some clubs and hugely underrated.
Another clean sheet for Benteke! But if you don't get any service, you can't expect to score! Hodgson's mistake was pushing Zaha alongside him as that just meant Palace were two men down as its clear he still doesn't have his head in the game and allowed him to switch off from any creative responsibilities. An industrious and often crude performance by the Blades. Crude but effective. Congrats!
Two games, no goals, one point.Been here before, haven't we? This is the traditional start to Palace's Premier League seasons.Why?.....and why do we look tactically the same as we have since 2017? There's never been a Plan B because this started as Plan B when we hit a striker crisis. Plan A ....well, that was Pulisball. So we need Plan C. .....C for "can't see that happening".
Comments from Villa supporters believing they'll above the Blades.Early days for all teams but Villa have just spent £120m changing their Championship loan team to a Championship level own team & will die a death up here.Back on topic: Get rid of Zaha - He was woefully inconsistent when he actually wanted to be there!
Big win for Sheffield United, clearly the pressure showed the first half, a very disjointed performance but they settled down in the second half and deservedly won the game. As others have mentioned, everyone slagging United and Norwich off but thinking Villa would stay up shows a staggering lack of football knowledge. Palace, Newcastle, Villa, Brighton 3 from those 4 going down.
61. ArthurMaileys4for362Love all the predictions that Villa will finish above us this season. We finished 3 places higher and battered em at BL last season and drew away, oh I forgot we haven't spent £150M.---Totally agree. SU (and Norwich) were streets ahead of Villa last season. Most of the £150M Villa have spent was needed just to play catch up with the other two
Those people who have already consigned the Blades (and Norwich) to relegation are just displaying their ignorance. Both will stay up. In fact both will do rather better than just staying up. They both have some good players, a great team ethos and visionary managers.Of the 3 promoted teams Villa are the most likely to get relegated (but I think they will survive too).

Seems Sheff Utd will be using the same MO that lead to success last season... kick lumps out of the opposition and hope to get a lucky goal.Worked yesterday so fair play to them, but that will most likely be one of a small handful of wins they get.
Congrats to Sheffield United but overall a really poor game. Both teams may struggle with goals on that evidence. Palace looked a bit bereft of ideas and energy. Long season so both teams may well improve.
Benteke? What is the point of him in a Palace shirt? Putting him in the team is like starting the match with only 10 men on the pitch.Puzzled why Hodgson persists with him still? Obvious he will never get better & his work rate is probably the worst in the team.
these are the teams palace have to beat they have needed more players especially a striker for the .last 2 years how much longer will fans keep paying to watch a relegation battle
