No , I said the ref spent the rest of the game trying to make up for his mistake. I didn’t say we would’ve won the game so I suggest you wind your neck in and quit trying to antagonise people.
@165 I am not unlike you I dont get upset if someone says anything about the hammers you said the ref was to blame for them awarding your offside goal against the hammers for you not beating us which I said is typical of you.I agree we are in for a tough season and I am glad he went to China so how on earth is that me being upset.
@164 What on earth are you on about? Don’t get upset just because someone thinks your team is in for a tough season.
@163 lol typical get given an offside goal and still blames the ref for not winning.Glad he is gone he disrupted the team the 2nd half of the season. Can you ever lose without crying or blaming anyone else?
@161 Yeah it was a shame the ref didn’t disallow our goal as he spent rest of game trying to make up for it. West Ham in for a relegation struggle this year without their main striker who’s left for China.
Good luck to Albert Adomah with his move to Nottingham Forest.
@154 that will be the west ham you could not beat away last year despite awarded an offside goal. Which basically help cost you the league title.
Why are so many people on here having a personal dig at Dean Smith. He is a relatively young man in his 9th year of management. He has never been sacked as a manager, and was well respected at both of his previous clubs.Last season he finished with a 50% win record with Villa.Wesley is the only signing not to have played in England before and he has huge potential. This is not another Fulham.
@158 Villa aren't the bookies favourites for relegation.Last year Stoke were nailed on certainties for promotion. The bookies rarely get football right beyond PL Winners. We love football because it's so unpredictable.Do me a favour, put your house on Villa for relegation.
The Bookies know what they're talking about...relegation odds don't lie..
Lots of Fulham nonsense being spouted by the armchair ignoramuses. We now have a proper defence for the first time since Laursen & Mellberg. We have the best midfield we've for years. The forward line is looking good. The owners are spending, no more Ellis penny-pinching or Lerner/O'Neill inconsistency. The manager is in it for heart as well as head. Can't bloody wait. UTV. VTID.
Some advice from a Stoke fan. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Are villa going to do what Fulham did? Spend £100M and go straight back down? £100M on players most people have never heard of, risky strategy. Although with teams like Brighton ,Sheff Utd ,West Ham and palace, villa might not have to do much to stay up.
@127 after a Blue nose assaulted Grelish it is a pity they were relegated to the 1st Division.
Villa will have it tough the next 2 seasons. They know it. That's half the battle, not waking up in January and thinking 'we have to do something'. If they battle from day one, they'll stay up. Would be worried if I was a NUFC fan, totally negative image of the club atm.
@ 130. Who says I'm a Bluenose? I'm not, by the way. I think Villa's transfer strategy is crazy though. £84m spent so far at least, just to keep previous loanees, bring in a couple of Smith's Brentford old boys and to bring in an unproven striker. Having said that, Villa have a fair chance of staying up this season, I'm not convinced it needed this much money spent to achieve that aim though.
