Match ends, Maidenhead United 2, Havant & Waterlooville 1.
Maidenhead opened up a nine-point cushion over National League relegation battle opponents Havant and Waterlooville with a 2-1 victory.
Havant won this season's previous meeting 7-0 when Maidenhead, who had no substitute goalkeeper on the bench, had Carl Pentney sent off with the score still at 1-0.
Maidenhead this time got their revenge, although the visitors survived an initial scare when skipper Rory Williams cleared Remy Clerima's effort off the line.
But the breakthrough came just after the hour through Ryan Upward before Adrian Clifton then netted a late second from outside the box.
Matt Paterson quickly pulled one back, but Maidenhead hung on through five added minutes to seal all three points, to leave Havant seven points adrift of safety.
