Aldershot's hopes of National League survival were kept alive after victory at fellow strugglers Boreham Wood.

Bernard Mensah had two opportunities to put the visitors into the lead in the opening 20 minutes, first hitting the post and then forcing a smart save from goalkeeper George Legg.

The deadlock was eventually broken by the Shots just before the hour mark, with John Goddard finishing off after some fine play by Regan Booty.

Scott Rendell's 80th-minute penalty made sure of the points for Aldershot, who move to eight points from safety, while Wood sit just six points above the drop zone.
