Dunfermline Athletic 2-2 Alloa Athletic: Alan Trouten double as Pars blow two-goal lead

Alan Trouten completed his double in stoppage time as Dunfermline Athletic blew a two-goal lead to draw with Alloa Athletic in the Scottish Championship.

Aidan Keena fired the Pars ahead from 22 yards for the on-loan Hearts striker's fifth goal of the season.

Iain Flannigan dinked into his own net after a Keana shot was palmed away by goalkeeper Neil Parry.

But Trouten slotted Alloa back into the game shortly after the break and again three minutes into added time.

The 33-year-old forward's 14th goal for the season secured Alloa's third draw of the campaign at East End Park.

It prevented their hosts moving to within two points of the promotion play-off places - and from stretching their lead over third-bottom Wasps to seven points.

'We've given ourselves a fighting chance' - reaction

Dunfermline Athletic manager Allan Johnston: "We started the game really well, looked by far the better team, should win it quite comfortably, but we could hear the crowd getting nervy.

"We should see the game out, but its the basics, just doing your job. It's criminal when it happens.

"We deserved to win the game. You can see the confidence in the team, but that's a big blow tonight."

Alloa Athletic manager Jim Goodwin: "We weren't at the races at all in the first half. I managed to tweak the formation at half-time and stress the importance of the next goal - I knew, if we did that, we were capable of the equaliser.

"Once we tweaked the midfield and gave us an extra body, it denied them the space.

"Our players never know when they're beaten - they deserve so much credit for that togetherness and team spirit.

"Everybody wrote us off before a ball was kicked. We've given ourselves a fighting chance, but if we stay in the league it will be an unbelievable achievement."
