Falkirk 0-0 Greenock Morton

Falkirk midfielder Paul Paton
Paul Paton missed Falkirk's best chance of the game

Falkirk remain bottom of the Scottish Championship after fighting out a toothless goalless draw with Morton.

Former Falkirk favourite Bob McHugh had a couple of opportunities in the first half for the visitors which home keeper David Mitchell dealt with.

The hosts were much sharper after the break and a Deimantas Petravicius shot was spilled by Morton keeper Derek Gaston, the ball finishing just wide.

Paul Paton missed Falkirk's best chance when he fired wide from eight yards.

The midfielder made a run from deep to connect with a cross from the left flank but somehow contrived to miss the target.

Morton had one clear-cut opportunity late on through Reghan Tumilty, but Mitchell saved at his near post to deny the Greenock side victory.

They remain in sixth place, a point off the play-off positions.
