Highlights: Hibernian 2-2 Dundee

Dundee staged a stunning comeback after conceding in the first minute to salvage a point against Hibernian.

Genseric Kusunga headed into the back of his own net after 39 seconds at Easter Road to give the hosts the lead before Ryan Porteous made it two.

Kenny Miller halved the deficit on the stroke of half-time, while Paul McGowan scored the equaliser just after the break.

Hibs move up to seventh as Dundee stay in bottom place.

Despite the precious point, St Mirren's win over Hearts means Jim McIntyre's men fall three points behind the Paisley side.

Not quite gone within 60 seconds

The opening of this match went just as expected, but you had to feel sorry for Dundee after they conceded on 39 seconds.

A wonderful ball into the box from Daryl Horgan and the Dundee defence were compelled to do something about it. Kusunga got his head to it, only to direct the ball into the top corner of his own net.

'It would've been sore if we hadn't taken anything'

It looked to be more of the same for Dundee as they conceded a second. Stevie Mallan delivered a free-kick and a thunderous header from Porteous doubled the Hibs lead. It was the 12th goal Dundee have conceded from a set-piece this season.

The match appeared to be all over but right on the stroke of half time, hope came for Dundee. An inspired run and cross from Nathan Ralph found Kenny Miller and the veteran striker pounced to turn the ball into the net to make it 2-1.

And then a sign of real character from Dundee as they equalised at the start of the second half. A sweeping move ended up with McGowan in the box. He calmly turned inside before stroking the ball past Adam Bogdan.

'A performance of real substance'

This felt like a contest between two fairly evenly-matched teams - and that's good news for Dundee. The Dens Park club played well after recovering from the worst possible start.

In the end, it was a hugely frustrating afternoon for Hibs. Just as it looked like they were back in the groove they allowed Dundee into this match. But equally, huge credit to the away side for forcing their way back in and not letting heads drop.

There's no game for Dundee next weekend due to the League Cup Final, and as much as today was hugely positive, the interruption to momentum will be frustrating for manager Jim McIntyre. Add to that, they fall even further behind at the bottom of the table. That's cruel after a performance of real substance.

'We look a little bit fragile' - reaction

Hibernian head coach Neil Lennon on Sportsound: "We were totally dominant in the first half but we're not putting teams away.

"We conceded a really poor goal from my point of view before half-time and then we're not taking anything on board at half-time because we concede more or less straight away again.

"We look a little bit fragile, a little bit short of confidence."

Dundee manager Jim McIntyre on Sportsound: "We got off to the worst possible start but the response from the players was excellent.

"I thought we passed the ball really well at times, just a wee bit sloppy in the final third when we had a real chance on the counter.

"Any time coming away to Easter Road then a point is never a bad result.

"Fair play to the teams above us who have gone and got positive results but that's not going to determine where we finish, it's what we do.

"We've just got to concentrate and build on our performance."
