Scotland have to win their Uefa Nations League group. Head coach Alex McLeish has said so himself.

We had a look at what Scotland needed to do prior to Albania. Now that hurdle has been cleared with some ease in a 4-0 win, what now?

Let's take another look...

How can Scotland win the group?

Scotland Nations League table

Well, beat Israel. Scotland will top the section - and guarantee a Euro 2020 play-off spot - if they manage that feat on Tuesday. Simple as that.

Should the game finish a draw at Hampden, Israel will go through on head-to-head after defeating Scotland last month.

So what happens if they are second?

If any of the four Group C winners reach Euro 2020 through the traditional qualifiers, the door is opened.

The best second-placed team - regardless of which of the four groups they are in - would take the vacant play-off place.

The other current second-placed teams - Greece, Bulgaria and Romania - have nine, 10 and nine points respectively, compared to Scotland's six.

But their results against the bottom team in their four-country section would not be counted in the final reckoning.

Is relegation still possible?

Astonishingly, no. Despite defeat in Israel, Scotland's two wins against Albania mean they will finish above them even if the worst happens on Tuesday night.
