WSL: Arsenal Women 4-3 West Ham United Ladies

Danielle van de Donk
Danielle van de Donk's hat-trick helped to maintain Arsenal's 100% start to the season

Danielle van de Donk scored a hat-trick as leaders Arsenal twice came from behind to beat Women's Super League newcomers West Ham at Meadow Park.

All three of her goals came from goalmouth scrambles after corners.

The visitors twice surrendered first-half leads, Kate Longhurst heading them in front and then restoring the advantage after a defensive mix-up.

Kim Little's low shot made it 4-2 to maintain Arsenal's 100% start, with Claire Rafferty replying.

The England international's free-kick squirmed in at the near post to set up a tense finale, but Arsenal held on for their third successive WSL victory.

Having won their first two games by an aggregate score of 12-0, Arsenal found West Ham much tougher opposition and needed all of their resolve to come through their biggest test of the campaign so far.

The Hammers have taken one point from their opening two WSL games since being accepted into the top tier following a successful licence application.
