Mon the Hoops
He's played us a few times in recent years in the Conference North. He is slow now but he still has great touch and composure. Quite like that he sticks to his guns on his diet - no point changing now!
Just about the best article I've ever read on the BBC site. Brilliant.
Parkin the legend. Brilliant on Radio 2 this morning, he was promoting his new book and they were trying to desperately get him off air whilst he described getting naked in some toilets :-)
What we need is a superstars challenge featuring him and Akinfenwa.
Saw him last season against South Shields. There were lorries parked outside with smaller turning circles, but he obviously still enjoys a game, and stuck at it for the whole match. Good luck to him. Shame there aren't more characters like him.
Loved watching him at Fleetwood. He replaced Jamie hardy after we sold him. Not quite as fast though. If he was sub he'd warm up in front of the visiting fans, who would chant you fat b.......d, he would bend over as if touching his toes with his large backside facing the away fans, who would love it.
Salt of the earth, nice one Jon. You couldn't make it up......except for the phantom car damage
@141The reason I clicked on the story was because it made the home page of the BBC - and rightly so, it’s a terrific story. You don’t have to follow football to appreciate it. The reason I didn’t turn to lower league football after the Prem came along was because I discovered other sports. Maybe you should try expanding your own mind before scoffing at others.
As long as there's a Parkin there's hope for us all, bracket him with players like Worthington, Bowles, Currie etc
@162 MILES BETTER THAN YOU EVER WERE
Nice bloke but if I'm paying hard-earned to watch a professional play!!!
