I almost nearly feel sorry for Gary Rowett. Well, maybe not. Promising young manager ending up as unloyal, ruthless, reputation-building ego - centric soldier of fortune in about 3 years. I feel sorry for Stoke that he's landed with them. I lived there for 3 years and have always had a soft spot for them. This isn't the man that's going to take you up. He's already blaming everyone but himself.
Rowett is Pulis without the cap.A one dimensional chancer, who will be looking over his shoulder for the next job offer, just as he did at Birmingham and Derby.
Rowett good at beating his gums but useless at organising a team. Best thing he did for us was leaving and us getting paid. Epic.
rowett says the players have to win back fans trust.....just an excuse to cover up his poor management skills.....talks the talk.....but cant.....walk the walk...good riddance mr rowett glad you left our proud club
With stoke heading towards League One, the real winner here is football.
I'm sorry but Rowett is not up to the job. He needs to go ASAP, or else we will be in danger of going down to League One. It will be difficult, but we need to do all we can to tempt Big Sam to Stoke. He is tried and tested and will sort this shambles out. You know what you get with him, he's old school, won't pander to the egos and will give this shower the kick up the backside they need.
Nothing about the referee's performance? 7 yellow cards and one red sounds a bit impressive!!
Time for 'Arry to step in and save Stoke. Crouchie is already there, so just need to bring in old Niko Kranjcar and the dream team is back
@326 SnowDog - people can blame Leigh, Tyldesley & Atherton's woes on Wigan MBC all they want but the streets of Wigan are hardly paved with gold. Any troubles that the 4 towns have run far deeper than the councilTop marks on knowing what Bongsmnon was a reference to though!!
The championship is full of fighting teams all looking to move up to the money league. Stoke were lucky to stay in the premiership as long as they did but the drop was on the cards for a while. Wigan did well, credit to them, stoke are nothing more than a mid league team in the championship and the pace will not suit the players from the premier league one bit. Bookies will be laughing as usual.
Stoke should be in contention but they have had a bad start but championship is marathon not a sprint.
Based on the last few years I'd have Rowett over Lambert every time.Every time he emerged from the dugout at WHL the Villa fans were giving him pelters
Seems like Mr Grigg may have reignited.
Any club with Williams at the heart of its defence will struggle
@168Would you like to be reminded of the 6:1 score in case you don't rember.
Patience is needed. When a club gets relegated from the Prem, although they're now playing at a lower level, it's tough to get rid of the losing mentality. When you've been getting stuffed every week, you can't just wave a magic wand and start winning.Rowett is a seasoned campaigner in the Championship; he'll get Stoke moving up the table soon.
