Kieran Tierney: Everton end interest in Celtic and Scotland defender

Everton have decided against pursuing their interest in the Celtic defender Kieran Tierney.
The 21-year-old defender was one of the players Everton had identified as new manager Marco Silva seeks to reshape his squad.
Now the Premier League club are to turn their attention elsewhere in the search for a long-term replacement for Leighton Baines.
Tierney is under contract with the Scottish champions until 2023.
It was thought Everton had been prepared to offer in the region of £25m for the Scotland international, who was linked with Atletico Madrid in April.
Celtic, though, gave no indication they were willing to let the player go, and Tierney himself is in no hurry to leave.
Their first competitive match against Alashkert in the Champions League first qualifying round takes place on Tuesday, with the return leg in Glasgow seven days later.
Tierney, who played at left wing-back in Sunday's 7-0 friendly win at Shamrock Rovers, has made 130 Celtic appearances, scoring seven times, and has been capped by Scotland on nine occasions.
He has captained both club and country and has won three Premiership titles and three domestic cups with Celtic.

I think you are actually talking about the SKY EPL there mate ,if anyone is deluded about their pathetic league it is the EPL and its followers .The best players in the EPL are ALL foreign players ,without which the EPL would be the mundane bore it really is ,outside of the top six or maybe even four .Watched too many english matches where they have boring draws scrabbling for the money
Everton (or any club) didn’t offer Celtic £25M.
Therefore Celtic couldn’t be “absolutely insane” as you put it, to refuse the offer.
I would advise you that this is all media spun speculation and has no basis in actual events.
Remember when Atletico Madrid scouted Tierney and Arsenal had Brendan Rodgers on a managerial shortlist? Nah, me either but the ghullibles do!
“Everton who may or may not have had an interest in young left back Kieran Tierney are now definitely not interested, if indeed they had been originally. The reason for this isn’t clear so we picked options 4 and 8 from ‘how to write football articles without doing any actual journalism’. We picked the number 25 just cos”
