@178 hahahahahaha you were talking garbage 4 hours ago, and you are still talking garbage now. Sadly you have been brainwashed by the Brazilian media into believing Neymar is good (NOT) and Maguire is rubbish (NOT) hahahaha. go back to your hole your comments are irrelevant.
@5 Clarify this, Ledwulf -- if your comment refers to Gruyère, it is a fact that this is a Swiss cheese that has no holes. If so, do you mean that the Brazilian defense is very solid? --
@161 Please clarify your assertion -- it seems a bit short on logic, or am I missing something?
@166 Yes, but only if they subsist on Emmenthaler -- not if they are on Gruyère ...
@172 Kerry, I'm sure both Jesus and Firmino compliment other Brazilian players, starting in the morning when they wish them all a good day. What Jesus apparently doesn't do is to complEment some of his colleagues' skills.
I see Maguire is starting for England. He will be a liability, mark my words. Too slow, cumbersome, lacking ability and too often caught in possession. Southgate has made a major boob here. England should still win but may regret leaving our Cahill for Maguire.
Although Neymar did his part during the friendlies, Titi should replace him with Firmino for the Brazil team to move on... If Neymar can't handle the pain, he should not be playing, it's as simple as that...
reckless - thanks for your support. The British attitude towards football is totally outdated. They simply do not appreciate skillful players. Just listen to parents shouting at children, playing junior football, to 'get rid of it' and 'take him out'. I wonder if those who criticize Neymar realize that at the speed he is running it is inevitable that he will fall when someone trips him up?
This comment was removed because it broke the house rules. Explain
So you are now allowed to shove the defender out of the way before the ball arrives to get better contact on the ball ?AND Slapping an opponent around the chops is apparently now allowed too ?Should have introduced VAR at this WC . . . . . . hang on a minute
God bless England team. I wish them victory in the World Cup , as they are only classy team that brought flowers to the fallen soldiers of Stalingrad. Russia also remembers bravery of the United Kingdom soldiers.I hope England will play amazing games and bring back their creative and brilliant style.
I completely agree James_Autar. The British mentality towards flair players is shocking. You'll get more applause for clearing a ball into row z than you wil if you try to beat your man with skill. In life you tend to get what you deserve and that is why England always produce robotic players.
Some amazingly bitter people on here. Sadly the British philosophy on football is speed, strength, hoof it high, tackle by any means fair or foul and berate any player who attempts to show any skill and flair and hack him down if he does. That is why England have won nothing since 1966. I enjoy watching players who have skill and entertain with their ability to retain the ball.
With Jesus nothing was sticking upfront. He doesn’t compliment the others. The fella was largely anonymous. He’s very much a #9 in that if he’s not scoring he’s not contributing. He’s just a better version of Jermain Defoe.Firmino is the opposite in that he’s a fabulous link man who compliments the others, little one twos, makes great runs into space. He knits the attack. He has to start.
Brazil struggled to score against the Swiss, and Germany struggled to score against Mexico. Now watch Belgium struggle to score against Panama, and then watch England struggle to score agast Tunisia. Obviously the big teams have better players, but all the talent is being wasted because the turnip mismanagers have lost all sight of what football is.
